| shambles...........only word i need.
they gave a franchise to open up RL in SOUTH Wales, not north wales.
Let Celtic struggle on in the south, and if this guy from Wrexham wants a superleague team , then let him put his bid in at the next round of franchise applications.
if Celic cant keep up standards, then stick em in a lower division , let em build up to see if they are capable, and in the meantime promote whoever won the NL1 final ..Barrow??? and let em stay until the applications come round again in a couple of years.
and its a farcical U-Turn that the RL are backing this wrexham proposal. Goes against all their proposals to expand by having magic weekends, etc.
having said all that , i have long been an advocate of wanting a team in north wales...round the Chester area.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-

IMO this will be their last season and they will disappear into the abyss like PSG. Typical RFL.....if theyd have left them in NL1 to build naturally in 5-10 years they could have had a chance!!

Really
According to Eddie and Stevo it was now or never for welsh rugby
I still cannot believe they were in over Widnes.
IMO Widnes are ahead of Wakey, Salford, Cas..... the only reason they were in over Widnes was because they were already in super league.

| I can think of four clubs that really should not be in SL based on licence criteria
Salford - poor support base, ground is a joke and in a bad area, not a brick has been put down on the new stadium which was supposed to open in 2010
Wakey - struggle financially every other season, poor support, bad youth development, full of imports in first team, ground is a joke (ticket prices are also excessive)
Crusaders - half of first team deported, finances in tatters, could move grounds 3 times in 2 seasons
Harlequins - make a huge loss each season and have recently been bankrupt and bailed out by the rfl, bad support base which the RFL have bankrolled for over 20 years

| What an absolute joke if this goes ahead!
If this does go ahead then it should be Wrexham Crusaders into Championship, with Widnes into SL. There are now zero grounds for Crusaders to be in Super League, Widnes are a better side, in a better financial position, with a better fan base and a better stadium.
The RFL really do despair me, bunch of retards in suits thinking they know what is best for the game, good at making headlines and nothing else. Its poor decision after poor decision with Lewis and his bunch of yes men.

I agree with the rest, but at least Wakey look like they are finally trying to sort out the youth development. I think they deserve their place tbh.

Well they beat us in the Under 18s final but what have they been doing for the past ten years? Too little too late maybe?

True, but yet they are at least doing something now hopefully. Theres a few "bigger" clubs who don't seem to bother at all.

Especially as it was a season where we'd had a lot of new lads?

Agreed, I really feel sorry for Widnes - You've got to admire them for having the balls to keep running an under 18 side when they're not in SL

| Noble for GB - can't see him sticking this, I wonder if he knew the situation was this bad.
As for Crusaders, clearly it was to soon, and this has been proven.

| This was all about getting a presence for RL in Wales and nothing to do with which team was deserving of being in SL.
I'd like to say the RFL would learn from their mistakes.. But this is the RFL so I'll brace myself for the decline of The Amsterdam Space Cakes RL team in 2016?

| The Cru may well go to Wrexham but I do think there will be a club in S Wales. They may start in Championship 1 but there is a lot of rugby talent down there and the young players in the recent Wales team were quality for their age.
The lack of any announcement I reckon is not because of the Cru going to N Wales but the setting up of a new club in S Wales.
As long as a club remains in S Wales to carry on the development work I'll be ok with it, as at present it seems we are salvaging the best we can from a complete wreckage!
