| How many of these have we had this year? I'll believe it when I see it. Not before.

| Someone I know who's involved in RL in Aus, was told a few months ago that Lam was coming over. He was told this by Lam himself. I was also told this by someone who has close links with someone involved quite high up at Wigan.
With all the recent rumours about McGuire, the Lam stuff seems to have died a death. Fingers crossed it is McGuire but I'm not getting my dander up until things are confirmed on Wednesday.

| Has anyone thought it copuld be wane with lam as assitant
The other one is that it could be McGuire with Wane as assistant and Lam as 21's coach.

| There will be a complete shake up.
I believe Pendlebury, Vievers and obviously Noble are going. Will Foreshaw also move on?

Wasn't Lammy the 21s coach before he left for Aus? Why Would he come back and do the same role?
And yes, I'd imagine Forshaw will follow Noble - good riddance as for a conditioning coach our players dont exactly look conditioned.

Interesting times ahead then, who is picking the new people, Maguire or IL?

| Considering that McGuire is a former top-level fitness conditioner in the NRL, if he is the new boss then you would have to hope that he gets to decide who he brings in.

If it is McGuire, it's difficult to imagine that he would leave Melbourne to come all the way to Wigan if there was anything in the contract at all - such as a questionmark against his having a major say in recruitment - that he didn't like.

But no matter who takes over there will always be someone who has '[iheard[/i' that IL makes all the signings and the coach has no say.

| At the shareholders meeting someone suggested that we should go back to the "old way" of the board picking the players and the coach coaching them.
IL said that was not his way, and the coach had the say on which players were brought in, but obviously he (IL) had the final veto as to whether we could afford them.

And that’s the way it should always be imo.
Do you remember the last Wigan coach that was given full access to sign who he wanted? We ended up swapping the then current GB hooker for a one trick scooting pony!
There always has to be that control imo.
