We can hold our heads up high around town. Not for us the ignomony of having once supported United, Liverpool or Everton and then shamelessly casting our previous loyalties aside for a 2 bit fly-be-night outfit with no history or standing in the town. The one where Halifax Reserves were playing Saints as a curtain raiser and there were 1000+ Wiganers there well early all cheering 'Hali-Hali-Hali-Hali-Halifax'. They all came over and applauded us at the end. Funny as.
I'll also never forget being one of the very first people in the queue at the turnstyles one Boxing Day and when a turnstyle opened we thought they were going to let us in. Instead a steward came out and changed the price from £10 to £11!?!

Challenge cup quarter final 1984, mud heap of a pitch, Wigan (wearing Saints away strip) losing 7-4, John Pendlebury gets on the end of a passing move and crosses out wide, the place erupted and we went on to win easily, fantastic day and even better night out in Wigan after !!!!!!!
