| Quote: AJ "No, because there are various options we could take and signing another back from australia on a long term deal will impare our recruitment for the sake of a position that we have cover for.
His injury will take a long time to recover from and surely we are tired of being burned by these "recuperation" signings.'"
I agree on the recuperation signing, but until the terms of his contract are announced and until we know when Phelps will be leaving the club the rest is really speculation.
At the moment in my opinion an overseas birth has to be used on our fullback and its the same for the foreseable future, we may as well use it on one of the best in the NRL.

If Phelps had gone, i would much rather Roberts been given a prolonged run at one with Pryce being given some serious gametime on the wing to see if he has really got a chance with us.

I agree but again therein lies the problem of recruiting Roberts on such a deal, i do think he will come good for Wigan but I still think it was a very short sighted signing given some of the players we currently have on our books and also some of the players coming off contract from the NRL in the next few years.
If it came to a straight out choice between Roberts in his pre Wigan days, Phelps and Kearney, i would plump for Kearney every time, he is a player I have mentioned on several occasions in the past as someone who would be a realistic target and a player i think would go very well.
Its all personal opinion and speculation at the moment, much like some of the others we have decided against making bids for such as O'Meley etc but i think we may well regret a few of those calls come the end of next season, only time will tell though i guess.

Because his card is marked and he can never ever do any right.
We have just resigned him for a year to save everyone else the indignity of having to employ him clearly.

That's a bit drastic isn't it just to get Wigan born players

| Quote: jonh "Kearney will be a sensation in my opinion one of the most underrated players in the NRL.
His kick return is outstanding, he links in the line well is very quick, strong and agile.
I would take him in a heartbeat over Phelps.
Probably cost more though.
Interesting comments, only started following the NRL last year and can't say I know too much about him. However his rumoured signings wasn't particularly welcomed by a lot of Bulls fans. I think the main reason being that Dave Halley has been a stand out performer for us at FB this year. Whether he can make the same impact on the wing is possibly doubtful.
Have you seen Kearney play at 6, or do you feel he has the skills necessary to play there for the Bulls? Seems to be a fair bit of debate on the NRL forums about which is his better position.

Fullback or wing only he is never a 6 in a month of Sundays.
