| I had been saying I'd play Phelps at stand off but Fridays performance convinced me that this line up works pretty well, having said that I'd like to see a bit more out of Gleeson when he's at stand off. I'd go with this:
FB 21 Phelps
RW 2 Roberts
RC 22 Gleeson
LC 3 Goulding
LW 5 Richards (K)
SO 25 Sam
SH 7 Leuluai
P 15 Coley
H 9 Riddell
P 19 Prescott
SR 16 Hansen
SR 12 Bailey (C)
LF 14 Joel
S 10 Paleaaesina
S 24 Mossop
S 26 Flanagan (used at stand off, with Tomkins going to 7 and Lulu to 9)
S 27 Farrell (a big risk giving him his debut v St's but young Wigan lads have a track record of doing very well in such circumstances)

I don't quite get what people are talking about regards Carmont, is there an injury concern with him? '"
He's busted TBH.
Shoulder injuries, knee injuries, arm injuries but he's coping so fair play to him. If he thinks he can play, he should play.

Wow, in that case we should definitely give him a rest ready for Wire, will edit my team accordingly.

| Selection obviously depends on injuries.
Noble said initially that Bailey could be out for 2 weeks or more. This week may bring better news about Lockers recovery.
Difficulty will be if both Bails and Lockers are fit.
The key to beating Leeds is that when Hansen went off Mossop came on but played as the fifth prop. It was that extra prop and the relentless power that wore Leeds down. The last twenty Phelps was making all sorts of yards up the Leeds middle, Lylie & Peacock were on their knees.
To me Noble simply has to pick Mossop v Saints in the same role as against Leeds.
Phelps,
Roberts, Gleeson, Carmont, Richards.
SamT, Leuluai.
Prescott, Riddell, Coley,
Bailey, (Hansen) Joel T,
Lockers.
Fielden, Feka, Mossop, Goulding (Hansen)
Leeds never expected to be ground down by the Wigan forwards. Coley & Prescott coming on after half time ripped them up down the middle. That's where games are really won, in the forwards.
The only way you'd change a winning pack is by strengthening it.

-Forwards to run at Pryce and Cunningham all game to tire them out and take them out of the game because they are already without Roby, Long and Wellens they have no guidance without Cunningham and Pryce. I would make Feka run at Pryce every time he gets it.
-Massive bombs to whoever plays fullback

| Same as last week, maybe if Carmont needs resting, Goulding to take his place with Bailey on the bench.

I was speaking to someone at the reserve game yesterday, who's opinion I really respect, who who thinks that Hansen could be bulked up to become a top class "workhorse" prop forward.
Food for thought?'"
Bulking up worked for Platt.

| Carmont gave our centres a bashing when you drew with us last year. I think Noble might remember this and leave him in.

Exactly, and we need to also do the same with Mossop.

If we don't criticise Hansen this Week then WHo are we going to criticise!!!!!!!!!!
Despite the fact he carries more ball up per game than Joel and makes more tackles per game than Joel and less errors and less penalties can't you just accept that Joel is flavour of the month and Now it has to be someone elses turn to be scapegoat!!!!!!!!
Sorry just had a quick look and guess what? He takes the ball in almost as much as Bailey and makes Many more tackles!!!!!!!!!
If this had been 6 weeks ago everyone would be saying get rid of Bailey but now again He's flavour of the Month so lets pcik on someone else!
PS
Joel was VERY GOOD on Friday and not having a go just making a comparison to highlight how ridiculous the OP's Statement was.'"
Your spot on!
I thought Hansen had one of his best games on Friday for a long long time, he looked a lot more dangerous going forward and topped it off with a good try.
Since he was dropped earlier on in the season, he has come back a far better and more determined player.

I'm sure our number nine could help him in that area.

| How is phelps playing for you men? The few times I've seen him this year, he looked pretty good.
I've never rated him but he looks to have kicked on.

Not just blowing smoke, but if the guy continues in this vein of form, for me he'll be one of the top 3 fullbacks in the competition, very soon.
