| Phelps
Roberts Pryce Carmont Richards
Gleeson Tomkins
Coley Riddell Prescott
Hansen Bailey
Tomkins
-----------------
Feka Fielden Flanny Tommy
Tommy for Riddell on the interchange, would be good to see Tommy given a full game as a 9.
Considered starting with Sam and Tommy then moving Tommy to 9 when Riddell comes off replacing Riddell with Pryce, then either Gleeson or Pryce could play 6, but then Tommy is doing a lot of mins playing in 2 key positions.

| Quote: Father Ted "On the basis that Smith, Lockers, Hansen, McIlorum and Hock don't play.
Phelps,
Roberts, Pryce, Carmont, Richards,
Sam, Tommy,
Prescott, Riddell, Coley,
Joel, Bailey,
Gleeson.
Feka, Fielden, Mossop & Flanagan.
Gleeson has played 13 for Wire a number of times and we need size against the Catalans. Mossop surely has to be recalled, if he is good enough off the bench for Hudds who are third/fourth then we should not have a problem in selecting him. Then keep Mossop and send Farrell on loan to replace him.'"
Only changes i would make to that are
Veivers
Roberts, Pryce, Carmont, Richards,
Phelps,Sam,
Prescott, Riddell, Coley,
Joel, Bailey,
Gleeson.
Feka, Fielden,Tommy,Flanagan.

| Wire fans didn't rate him at stand off at all but in contrast the Aussies highly rated Phelps as a stand off.

I agree, I don't what the fuss about putting Gleeson at stand off is. He is best when he gets the ball in a bit of space out wide. He's not got a known passing or kicking game so I really wouldn't like to see him at 6.
On reflection it would seem best to me to just bring Flanagan at hooker to cause as little disruption as possible.

Except that Flanagan isn't a hooker. If we want to cause as little disruption as possible then bring Sam Gee in at hooker, and Flanagan and Mossop to replace Loscky and Hanson.

Is Sam Gee up to it? I rate him, but is he ready for SL?

And believe me I could find a lot more quotes.
What do we have to lose?

| Maybe this is the right time then to give Phelps a run at 6. Why not? He could prove to be quality.

He's played under 17's, under 19's, NSW and Australian Junior kangaroos at stand off and earned a real reputation with some impressive performances. Just read the comments! Aussies really rated him as a 5/8th and it's his preferred position and most natural.
Why not give him a shot?
I would put a healthy bet he could do a better job at six than Martin Gleeson.
He could be a gem for us and we might not need a new halfback.

I agree that I would be dumb not to have a look at him there.
Realistically Noble won't bring in Sam Gee.
The only decisions I'm struggling with are whether to play Pryce or Ainscough on the wing and whether to play Farrell or Flanagan.
