Don't need to compare the two's performances. Still the best bit of business Wigan have EVER done.
Gleeson could be tied to the posts all game and it would have a more positive effect on our performances than if Mathers plays. If Mathers does good for Warrington then I'm glad for him - but it doesn't change the fact that the best thing for Wigan was for Mathers to leave.

Getting fed up with these threads now. We are happy to have a specialised full back to replace Reardon, plus £100k, and we have got rid of a player who has made no secret of the fact that he wanted another club.
You have got rid of a player tou don't want and have an international centre playing for his home town club.
All happy.

5 mins into this season and Wakey kicked a ball into touch 10 mtrs from West Stand and as the ball was rolling towards the sidelines the same old Numpties near me start off with the
100% agree Jukesy. I remember going to the Catalans away game last year and Mathers was getting "bloody hell mathers" constantly during the warm up. We need supporters supporting not criticising.

Unfortunately Richie will never lose his "dodgy" tag from us - some justified some not - and where as I wish him all the best, I think both clubs got a good deal for what THEY wanted.
Wigan wanted Gleeson
=
Wire wanted excessive cash
=
Wigan offered Mathers who if were being honest never settled in the club
=
Wire get rid of Gleeson who is seen as a 'bad egg' and not wanting to be there
=
Fresh start for both clubs and both players.

wire dont miss him thats for sure, but to be far he's done very little for GB, england, Wire or wigan(so far).
