After reading most Salford supporters posts in regards to the topic, it appears as though that type of mentality is normal for them. I don't whether that's the way they're brought up or whether it's filtered down from the terraces of Old Trafford but regardless of where it stems from, we don't need it in our game.

Before everyone starts taking the moral high ground on here, there were a large minority of Wigan fans wishing death on Whelan not too long ago.

What a thousand fans sang "Die Die Whelan" directly to him?

This thread isn't about taking the moral high ground - I wanted to see people's perceptions of the chant. I found it really offensive and low - so wanted to asks people's perceptions also to see if it was just me overreacting.

But wasn't there a vast majority condemning those few idiotic posts?

FWIW the Salford team got a massive applause from Wigan fans as they went in the tunnel.

Perhaps there's more to it than just leaving.

last time we played salford at their ground they were singing the same nasty chant. two days later the wakefield /celtic game was called off because of the death of a rugby player during a game. I think that chant is completely in bad taste. Coley dedicated 7 years to salford, if that is not loyalty i dont know what is. I thought it was disgusting , his wife and daughter go to the game.

And when they scored their try, which was a brilliant piece of rugby.

As a neutral fan i think its shocking and action from the RFL should be taken. Cannot beleive some comments from the Salford fans. Half witted trash.
