44841.jpg There is a place in wigan, right next to Robin Park, where legends such as Farrell, and Radlinski made their mark. the boardroom's full of trophy's, its time we won some more, All the other teams know what we mean when they hear the Wigan roar.....:44841.jpg |

| I remember Pat's 1st season when he looked like a real bad signing. Not one of us would swap him now!
Amos has got speed to burn and when he gel's with Gleeson he'll cause a lot of trouble for a lot of gteams. He's also good under a high ball and doesn't miss tackles.
I say give the lad a chance and he will blossom
As for Riddell, I've seen very little to make me want him to be keot. The way mike mac is playing it wouldn't bother me if Riddell went today!

He can't do anything unless somebody gives him the ball.
Again, as against Hull KR, he seemed to be left with 2 or 3 players to mark out wide several times as our defence just doesn't slide near our own line. On all but 1 occasion he saved us with a great read.

| the reason why id keep riddell in the squad is that his distribution is alot better than mcillorums or leuluais. thats what you want out of a hooker good distribution.

He also made most metres out of any of the four hookers on the pitch on Friday.

| Roberts is settling in quite nicely now imo.
He's been solid as a rock these past few weeks and has come up with some huge try saving plays. One at Edinburgh on Pulutua, one at Wakey in in the cup, the Dobson effort last week and numerous crunching hits coming in of the wing at Warrington on Friday.
If only we got the lad some ball
As for Riddell................................must do better but not a total right off just yet.

I totally agree, I also think that Riddell is an improvement on Higham, although I wish he would look interested.
Both of them look as though they have plenty of improvement in them though - if they improve as much as Pat did from his first season's efforts I'll be very happy next season.
However, why do we seem, of late, to bring over players who need so much time to adjust. Barrett being a recent exception. I understand all the arguments about moving from the other side of the world, missing family etc. but wouldn't it be good to find more players who have slotted in quickly like Brett Kenny, John Ferguson, the Iro's, Brett Dallas, Gene Miles, Adrian Lam?

| He was a good rather than very good import, but my point was that I don't think he took ages to settle in and play to his potential, limited though it may have been at that stage in his career.

He was bloody brilliant once he settled in, but it took him quite a while.
And that was playing in the best club side in the world at the time, and that's why I find the criticism of some of the newly arrived overseas players very strange.

I understand your point but how would we measure whether a player will settle in quickly over others? It's pretty much impossible.

| You're right there is no way of knowing. I was just getting a bit frustrated with both Roberts and Riddell. There is obviously so much potential there and it is taking so long to come out.

Claderwood would have scored a stack load of tries if Wigan could create a little space in the wide areas.
You can have the world's best wingers but if they are not given the ball in the right areas or in a little space, they are pretty useless.

| They should go home and see if they can land a contract. That would/will be the test of how good they are doing.
Not putting in the effort needed i.e. lazy, they could not do what they are doing here in Australia as they would be crucified in their press and rightly so.
