| No he was wrong again, team selection lost us the match.
We had no craft or composure, plenty of effort.
I think we should ask what did Roberts, Smith or Riddell do that is so good to warrant their places. They are very ordinary Australians and if you add Bailey there is not a lot there. Smith has class but last qweek was very poor and tonight didn't exist. In the first half roberts touched the ball no more than 3 times made a good tackle on Dobson but does not look for work and has no intention of trying to break the line. In the 2nd half Phelps was shattered and Roberts should have taken some of the long kick but left nearly everything to Phelps.
Riddell is doing what, Mcllorum playing great so probaly time for Noble to leave him out after all he is a young Wigan brought up player, which seems to go totally against Noble's thinking.
There is a saying if you are good enough you are old enough and these are young players i.e. Tompkins Ainscough and Mcllorum who have a reasonable amount of talent and look like they actually want to play their hearts out for Wigan. Can you say the same about the 4 I have mentioned?
It must be very disheartening for the young Wigan guys to be left out when they are the 2 leading try scorers having played less matches than the others. If Ainscough can score 17 trys why is Roberst not scoring at the same rate and what is he actually doing that keeps Ainscough out of the side, similarly with Smith/Riddell v Tompkins.
We must be very careful that they don't see the light and look to Rugby Union where these talents would be I think quite sucessful and certainly looked after better than they are now.

Yes he was wrong again, after our VERY poor start to the season we expected better, we got the same old dumb football..11.000 average from now on until he goes.

I did not see the gme tonight but not sure who you can say Sam needed a rest he did not look too fatigued scoring the match winner last week.
I did think prior to the game it was a good call but it appers Noble has selected unfit players Carmont for the second week which is unforgivable and Riddell over Tomkins and Ainscough.

| This was a really, really big error by BN.
I have to say that I remain a Nobby doubter. Tonight for me was yet more evidence of why we need a change. Poor team selection, poor preparation, poor tactics.

He scored the winner but up until that point, he hadn't done much and looked jaded to me. He got the winner and full credit to him but it masked what was some tiredness imo.

Carmont, whilst heavily strapped didn't seem to be too affected by the injury, his mistake in defence happens all to often for the leg injury to be blamed.

If you can spot Tomkins looking jaded but not see Carmont struggled last week then i have to wonder exactly what you are looking out for?!

| If Carmont's leg was a problem, he'd struggle in the pre-match fitness tests. If you fail the tests, you probably won't play but if you struggle in the tests, I suppose you are assessed and Carmont must of passed fit, Webster's try was a copy of the Wakefield, the week before. It happens all to much if you ask me.
We don't know the reasons behind S. Tomkins not playing it could be a number of different ones, but I guess we'll never know the real reason!

It isn't hindsight for some of us. He picked the wrong team and I was saying what team he should have picked earlier today.

Cannot comment, but i think Tomkins looked far more comfortable last week than Crmont, so to single him out and try to justify his dropping on this to me seems n odd one, not least when we could have rested Carmont who did struggle last week and still put out a very impressive backline including Ainscough or Tomkins.

However, some were agreeing Sam needed a rest. So it is hindsight for some.

Im not sure what you think goes on pre match, but its not really tests. He in my opinion clearly was not fit lst week nd played, cannot comment on tonight but it also appears Riddell was not fit and he also played.
