| Quote: SRC "I hope we (Barrow) get to keep him for the rest of the season. He'll get far more game time than at Hudds, playing in a very good team - although granted not a SL team.
Also, why loan players out to a rival SL club ??
Stay at Barrow Lee - you know it makes sense (although I don't think he has the final say).'"
If game time is the criteria he should play 3 times a week for various amateur clubs.
Why loan out to a SL club? - to get more Sl game time playing with and against quality players / getting better coaching than at Champ level / better facilities, conditioning, medical support than at Champ level.

Unless he is guaranteed starts on a regular basis he won't gain anything by going to Hudds if he isn't playing.
Championship level is also clearly better than reserve level at SL since there are many lopsided scores and no-contest games in the Sl reserves. It is IMO an ideal stepping stone for a player with Mossops experience to go to the championship.
Of course there may be other reasons why Wigan would prefer him to go to Hudds. Money being the most obvious one I can think of (if Barrow were not paying all his wages for example)!

3rd highest prop in SL in tackle busts.
2nd highest prop in SL in tackles.
Highest prop in SL in marker tackles.
You'll notice what he does when he isn't there.

It's hard to keep level headed in regards to Fielden at times because the price tag lets your heart rule your head but we'd miss him without doubt.
His form of the past 4 games as been of a very good standard.
Overall he's not quite in the league of Graham or Peacock anymore but he's right at the top end of the group of prop forwards underneath them and thats fair enough.
He's easily better for example then somebody like Kylie Leuluai who we've been linked with but i bet the majority would swap them.

As I've said so many times on here.
A lot of posters only see (or want to see) players who run 50 metres with the ball every time they get it.
Fielden has been a good signing for Wigan, but came at a price that we were willing to pay.
He's hardly missed any games, and up to this season was playing 60 minutes + per game.

fully agree mate, hes had his games where ive thought why the hell have we signed him, but then you look at the work he does id love to see another prop who makes as many tackles as him.
the pride he had when he scored that try the other day was unbelievable.
hopefully he can continue to kick on.

| Finally Wigan are getting it. Saints have some terrific prospects out on loan in the super league this season. With the likes of Goulding and Mossop out there aswell we are giving them valuable experience wich will make them even better for 2010. With the academy system producing talent like it is at the moment this is what we will hopefully see for the next few years.

I think it's more all the dropped balls that irks people as regards Fielden,

Half the errors of Hock and Lockers and a whole 2 errors more than Bailey or Coley. Hardly an earth shattering difference over so many games.
