I agree with this. I suppose if there are positives to take from this its that virtually all our problems were of our own making. We were clearly the better side and I think now that our forwards are finally getting on top in games, the potential is there for all to see. Again our defense was outstanding though, which is something that was plaguing us even when we were playing well in attack so that's also something to take from it. Other than that, as others have said, a win is all that matters and in those conditions I suppose anything could have happened!

Good win against a team who make it difficult. 2 years ago my wife and I bought tickets for Wembley before the semi final against Catalans. Paid for 2 nights in the Thistle hotel, theatre tickets for the Friday and ended up buying french verets and shouting for the dragons in the final. Not wanting to put the mockers on us again, I'm gonna book the same tomorrow! Hope I don't waste my money this year!

that was a typical cup game and i definately enjoyed it.

a very good performance from our pack in my opinion, in fact it is probably the best all round performance I have seen from this wigan pack of forwards for a long times.

Coley and fielden where outstanding up front with feka working hard and prekky providing the youth, our forwards where definately working the second phase.

JT, phil bailey and gaz hock where great both in attack and defence in the second row. Gareth hock proved why he is potentially the best second rower on the planet with his performance, wakefield could not handle him.

sean o loughlin must be our contender for man of steel- he is a monster in defence and he has definately started applying himself in attack.

my heart is in my mouth this year with wigan! it is the first time i have ever asked us to control the ball- the attacking freedom our lads are playing with is unbelievable.

anyone else think bentham was a twa t again. he called us back and video reffed for everything. when tomkins scored, questioned a dummy runner, lockers went through about ten yards away and drew three defenders, tomkins then stepped two players, joke, the hock alleged elbow, rubbish. any opportunity to deny us, he would, frustrating refereeing, looking for a way to cancel any score. glad we put it out of reach of a dodgy decision

Bentham was shocking!! Worst ref in the league by far.

How about when he had us for obstruction 10m from the line! That was a shocking decision!! Coley was a dummy runner, ran straight through the defence, touching nobody, obstructing nobody, and he gives a penalty??

I agree with the original post. We at times did some stupid things but are really looking the part at times. From the 10th minute upto the 55th is the best all round ive seen us play for a long while. The game was complete control and Wakey never looked likely to score.

The go forward was immense by the pack. Coley was awsome for the time he was on and Feka caused problems. Lockers now is really looking a good player.


Pretty soon some side is going to get a big beating from us.

I thought we did what we needed to win the game. Wakefield always make it hard for the opposition and whilst we by no means ran away with the game we always looked in control and that we could go up another gear or 2 if needed.

I agree. As Nobby said, we found reasons to win the game.

We had more points in us if needed.
