| He didn't make any glaring howlers but I though his policing of the PTB was poor. Saints were not square all night and he never pinged them once.
It's one thing letting the game flow but at some point you have to apply the rules.

I agree, Video refs always watch for double movement in slow motion though which is totally pointless.

Couldn't agree more mate.
Excellent performance tonight. Exactly how refs should-be seen and not heard! Ganson should take note that you don’t have to play the big man during the match to have control over it.
Yes he missed some penalties but he missed them for both teams and let the game run. That’s the way RL should be not with pedantic refs blowing their whistle every two mins or so for non consequential penalties like not having two feet behind the line.

| No problems with Thaler tonight. I think he's the best of the lot at the moment.

It was a text book double movement. The rules are clear on this, once the ball carrying arm touches the ground the player is tackled as long as an opposition player is touching him. If the tackled player then slides over the line without moving the ball carrying arm then the tackle is deemed complete at the point the slide stops. If a player lifts the ball carrying arm and advances the ball this is classed as a double movement. Defo no try.
Apart from the forward pass Ainscough's try was well taken by a young lad, i thought he was in touch but watching it on telly at home he did very well to lift his leg.
Well done tonight, its nice to have the competative derby back. Cant believe sky have demoted us to Thursday night and moved the hull derby to good friday.

It always is. O'loughlin was never square all night either, with Wigan generally having their hand on the ball to slow Saints down.
As for no glaring howlers, Tomkins knock-on, which resulted in ansother six tackles, was a shocker.

| Thaler missed a blatant knock-on from Phelps early from a kick return, plus it was a forward pass to Ainscough for his second try.
