| The only point Noble is making is that its not time to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet. In relation to what we are trying to achieve losing 3 games is not the end of the world. So yes,Humpty Dumpty has fell off the wall and needs putting back together but nothing has been won or lost just yet in terms of trophys.

At some point Noble will be a footnote in Wigan's history.'"
And there is still chance he will be hailed as a legendary Wigan coach as quite rightly he points out that things are won in October not February. If Noble steers us to a GF win in October nobody will care about the early season losses.
For the past 2 seasons we have been one game away from getting to the GF. In both the final eliminators we have lost out to the team who have gone on to win the GF the week after by considerable ease. There is no saying just yet that we cannot go one step further this year. Its far to early to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Its top eight this year of course we will be in the shake up!!! That doesnt mean we should accept mediocraty, which at the moment i would take with both hands!
And of course he has confidence in the squad and himself, but does anyone else? I dont. Show a bit of heart and we fold!!
But your right it wont cost us the league, being out-enthused will cost us that! Its only week 3 and we have been out-enthused 3 times.
In the next 3 games we have leeds bradford and quins! Looks like being 0-6 (however they may be interested in playing leeds so you never know)
But dont worry cos come playoff time (august) we will be fired up and ready to play at the business end of the season!
Pathetic!

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_36121.jpg |

So basically we're watching friendlies used to get the side ready for the big assault on the Playoffs? No need for real commitment; we can just go through the motions and just ramp it up in September? Bull$hit, what about the paying public who pay to be entertained? Are we to be entertained by the opposition walking through our defence? Are we to laugh along with the opposition fans mocking us?

Dear Christ! You're turning into Noble.

Personally, I'd agree with Noble. The season nowadays has just become a warm up for the PlayOffs. The Minor Premiership is the equivalent of winning a dinnerplate and has little or no value. What you do in February/ March, although obviously going to have an impact if you lose constantly, is irrelevant. The start to the season doesn't really mean anything, it's how you finish that counts. Look at the slow start at Saints last year. They didn't really start truly playing till mid-April, won/ drew every league game since and then flunked in October. October is the month you wanna start winning games. October/ September are the only months that REALLY matter in the RL calender nowadays.
We should expect to see good rugby for what we pay, but essentially what Noble is saying is correct.

Herein lies the crux of the problem.
