Thats not what i was posting above. The orginal poster made the comment about changing his mind after sundays performance, so there must be an element of him wanting to attend the game as he made plans to do so.
"We lost last week so im not going next week" OR "we played well and won, i think i'll go next week"

What he said
There are times when I get more enjoyment watching the reserves / academy.

| I was talking to a guy at the Leigh game who is a staunch Bury FC supporter. "Oh, yes", he said. "I've followed them through thin". Made me smile!

I will admit that I have on a few occassions not attended games due to the way the team has played the week before - like when we lost to Catalans in the CC semi, I didn't go to Wire the week after, thank God.

From what I read there's an element of him simply not enjoying the style of rugby we play and often the lame throwing in of the towel rather than going down with a fight. I can appreciate that, one of the hardest things to get enthusiastic about is following a team with no hunger for the scrap in them.
On the subject of 'we won so I'll go next week' approach, it's self defeating, a mate of my dads who we all take the mick out of for his doom and gloom approach does this every year. It was pretty amusing last year when we couldn't string 2 wins together - I think he missed something like 5 wins whilst watching 6 straight losses
Personally, I used to feel like I'd lost a tooth missing any game, but these days whether it's a change in personal circumstances or more apathy towards the current team I'm not sure but quite a few away games I don't even consider going to.

| the kc visit is one of the highlights of the season for us, theres not many grounds where you feel as safe, there may be plenty verbals flying from side to side but it is well stewarded. as for not going because we lost last week i think its a poor excuse. tomorrow is another day. they are going to have a big crowd behind them and the boys will need all the support we can muster, so if you are 50/50 then go, if they win you can tell your friends you were there.

you can be a fan and not go to every game due to personal circumstances.
money, kids other activities, other leisure pursuits.
rugby league is not the be all and end all, and anyone who slags off fans for not attending every game whilst they themselves never miss a game have either too much money and time on their hands, or they dont have a full and varied life.........ie......they need to get a life and join the real world.
for what its worth i am a liverpool fan, and ive not been to anfiend for years for financial reasons, and im a pittsburg steelers fan and NEVER been to pittsburg...........but i wore my pittsburg shirt with pride on sunday in protest of us not having a shirt and there was no way i was wearing last years with JJB on it.

| If a usual traveling supporter easily has the time & money yet decides to skip a game because of the fact they don't like the way the team are playing then fair enough, they're a self-confessed fair weather supporter which isn't neccessarily a negative thing or anything to be looked down on but it's something they might struggle to accept.

You go to a restaurant have a good meal once, twice and the third time it is awful. If you did not go on the next weekend is that not rational?
I worry more about the 'blind' supporters who refuse to criticise and turn up irrespective of what utter tosh is put in front of them. It was these 'loyal' supporters who saw and were party to the club being relegated to Division 2.
