| Quote: AJ "We have missed the boat with regards halfbacks, Fien signed for '10, Orford doesnt seem to want to move and Finch is a wildcard and as with Smith, is it really worth the risk?
A prop yeah, we need badly.
You would hope we would be able to pay a fee to get the right player perhaps given the lack of incoming players.'"
TBH with how Leuluai is playing recently I think with a powerful prop to set a platform, him and Tomkins could do quite well next year. Neither is a dominating Halfback like Barrett was so they both get chance to show their own skill and seem to be pairing up well atm.
Leuluai, while young, is hardly inexperienced. Hes been in the UK 5 years now Im sure

If not get a bucket collection going at the Leeds game and the fans can buy Sam Burgess
He did with Gleeson and I think that proved he will do it again if its for someone he deems the "correct" player. Hopefully that would be a prop.
Id throw in a tenner to help get Burgess, but he is NRL bound.

| Sam Tomkins kicking game in the past few weeks has given me confidence we could cope without too much fuss next year if we get at least one forward in.
He's showed a mature side to his game recently and an ability to run a game. He seems to have taken alot of extra responsibility on his shoulders and Leuluai seems to be benefiting from that aswell.

| We need an experienced bulky second rower to replace Bailey (and compensate the loss of Hock) and if we can the all important prop forward.
Forget a halfback.

I think we should get one out and out prop and then one prop/SR who can play both like a Puletua style player. We should also sign Coley for one more year as he has earned it IMO.
With Bailey, Hock, Smith and maybe Phelps out we should have enough to cover for all that.

Id keep Bailey for some stability and experience and just look to find another Prop from somewhere.

| We've lost Gareth Hock and prior to that needed a prop.
We need TWO signings for the forward pack above all else.

I think we should cover for Hock with Mossop to promote our young players as it will benefit us in future. If Bailey goes then we should replace him. We need a prop as it is especially if Coley does not resign.

| Everybody's in agreement that we need somebody in the pack, however who's available. To my knowledge nobody is available for 2010 who haven't already been snapped up, most seem to be coming off contact for 2011 which is when I think Lenegan is aiming for. We could offer a transfer fee but good props are in such big demand the price could be high sky when we could wait till there off contract and sign then then.

That would not suprise me, they will have plenty cap space available.

If that turns out to be true and they do sign Watmough as well as already having signed Soliola, two current international players at the top of there game, and we sign Daryl Griffin somebody better hold me back next time I see Lenegan around the JJB.

Exactly the sort of player we should be in for.

Why would we get rid of Phelps?

I don't think we should, and neither do most Wigan fans. But is it up to us? If we want an overseas player we might have to get rid. It depends on if we keep Bailey or not really I guess.
