| Can't disagree with that, we have all been frustrated by the performances this year and I personally have started to lose faith in Wane. I hope he proves me wrong and we get it together for the business end. It's been a tough year injury wise but that excuse is wearing thin now.
People should still attend matches even if they are serving up garbage, the team needs support - that's why we are fans, rough with the smooth and all that. We don't have a right to win every game or even play well, but they'll do better with our support.
I'll admit in the heat of the moment I walked off at Cas thinking what a waste of money that was. Pure frustration, but I won't stop going.

| Quote ChrisA="ChrisA"I'm critical at the moment, does that mean I don't support the team still? I have always posted constructively why I think we are underperforming and asked what is being done by the coaching setup to change it. Trust me, I still support the team as much as ever, it's just pure frustration that we don't seem to be moving forward, and all the noises that come from Wane make it appear like it isn't an issue to him. He can get us defending, he can get us all pumped up, but we can't attack. We haven't been a potent attacking team in well over a year. That frustrates me unbelievably and I can't see anything from Wane that makes me think it will change. What I class as good, imaginative, smart rugby is a long way from what we've seen this year and a lot of last year.
I'm glad yourself and others can tolerate what we have produced this year, I wish I could do the same. I want to enjoy watching our team, I just don't enjoy watching us struggle so badly, playing predictable catch and pass rugby, when we are clearly capable of so much more.'"
Exactly the same as I feel.

| Quote Orrell Lad="Orrell Lad"I don't compare supporting Wigan to buying a "product". It's more emotive than that. If you buy defective goods, there is usually an alternative brand to purchase. There is no alternative to Wigan. I was born in this town and I will attend games home and away even if it bores me to tears. Call me a happy clapper or whatever, not d. I'm not ready to discard the club just because they aren't playing well.
We'll come good and the negative armchair supporters will conveniently disappear (again).'"
As I see it Ive got 3 options. 1. continue watching utter tripe. It's the only way I can describe it. As I've said previously I have watched the team for 50 years and we have had much worse teams but this team is utterly joyless to watch. Bereft of ideas but brilliant wrestlers. For me this is the 3rd season of a decline to mind numbing wrestling - I actually don't think we play rugby. I have considered this i.e. carry on regardless and would if I could see even a flicker of change.
2. I could carry on going and boo when I see low quality, low intensity and boring whiteboard rugby. I don't boo and I'd if I did I'd probably never stop during a game so that leaves
3. Stop going and hope that IL will eventually show enough interest and start to make changes.
My choice isn't the easy option for me. I love the club and was genuinely one of the 4000 or so who watched the club in the dark days of the 2nd division so I don't need telling about loyalty and alternatives. By the way I hope your jibe about armchair supporters wasn't aimed at me because that would open up your previous comments of empty vessels which I chose to ignore.
I won't call anyone who wants carry on watching and support the current set up that is absolutely their prerogative as it is mine to say actually I've had enough of the present lot. Just accept that other people have different views and that doesn't mean they have less feeling for the club.

| Wigan are under the pump as Wane would say. Friday is now a crucial game. Get embarrassed by Saints again and there will be a mass Wigan walk. I have never left a game early in the 50+ years I have been supporting Wigan. I will be very tempted to walk if Friday''s performance leaves me cold.

Would never ever leave a Wigan Saints game early. Would never give their fans the satisfaction of waving me away. Soon as the hooter goes I'm off like.

So did you have your kip?
If so you missed us nilling the old enemy even though already you'd paid for it.

Actually Matty I did i.e. in terms of having a kip. I gave my season ticket away and don't regret it one iota.
2 sets of players with no mindset. 2 coaches who think they know everything and know very little about managing.
Obviously glad we won but a derby? In name only. 2 pretty appalling sets of players.
I apologise for saying Wigan are shoite and the worst team in SL for entertainment. That Saints team are truely appalling and are probably the worst Saints side I have ever had the misfortune to watch. Cunningham makes SW into a Jim Sullivan in terms of coaching ability.
Always glad to beat Saints but it ain't the same when 2 bad teams are on display.
I truely hope we go on and win the GF and I would be truely embarrassed after all my negativity but in all honesty I stick with we have a poor set up with technically poor players and a coach who is patently terrified of failure which leads to zero success.
Sorry to be a killjoy but how can we start with Isa??? TT is ten times the player but overlooked for a guy who adds nothing and I mean nothing to our game.
Maybe I'm too old and cynical but the current set up leaves me so cold so sorry even nilling Saints mean jack shoite to me at the moment other than we didn't lose.
I'm glad you enjoyed the result and as I say as cynical as I sound at the moment I still would sooner beat Saints than any side in the competition.

| As a Hull fan, obviously I'm delighted with how our season has panned out, won nothing yet but to be in the mix, after years of totally treading water, is a great relief. I temper that with the knowledge that despite your frustrations, Wigan are still a team that manage to compete and largely win, with all the injuries and off field distractions you've had this year. Given that yourselves and Leeds will undoubtedly strengthen and have a better squad, with players regaining fitness, I fear that this is a year that presented all other clubs with an opportunity to taste success while they can, because I honestly believe next year that Wigan will dominate and win the lot. We are not really much in front of you and we've had an unbelievable amount of fortune with injuries this year, so I wouldn't be too down beat. If MM and Lockers had not been injured I cannot think you would not have done at least the double this year, those two pivots are so crucial that the playing style has suffered because of their absence. You should remember that your mediocrity, as some would call it, still is the level to which most other clubs aspire to reach, so when you hit your straps with a full squad, bang! We'll all be trailing in your wake again, allow us to bask in our no doubt short lived glory until normal service is resumed, please.

I'll bite!
Sorry but I think you're bang wrong on Isa. First off I don't know why you are comparing them because Isa plays back row and Tautai prop, as for Tautai being overlooked, he's an impact prop who plays the same minutes as every other prop. Are you suggesting we shift Tautai away from where he's most effective to get more minutes out of him? Seems pretty pointless.
As for him adding nothing, Isa was top tackler on Friday with 40 tackles, he's averaging around 40 tackles a game and is only behind Powell on total tackles for the season. I'm not saying we should be totally satisfied with that but to say he adds nothing is short sighted in the extreme. Defence won us that game on Friday and he was statistically our hardest worker in that area.
I think this is about expectations though, he's our 5th choice back rower behind Lockers, Bateman, Farrell & Joel, I suspect he wouldn't even make the bench if all the back row were fit and firing and I would imagine his salary would reflect that, but he's not missed a game since April when the rest of that back row have either been injured or suspended. He's been solid and dependable where we've needed it most.
