| Hope the innocent people attacked get over this asap. Hope the scum who did this get what they deserve. As others have posted this is not the first time this has happened at Warrington. The majority of Wire fans are good people but they along with Hull FC appear to have the biggest issues with thugs. I have sent an e-mail to the RFL expressing my anger that this happens time after time at Warrington. IF Warrington does have an issue with this on match day then they should have to pay for extra police. It happens at football and if Warrington has this problem then tough, they pay the price. Spectator safety should be the priority of any club. We need to take our heads out of the sand and realise that this kind of thing is happening more at rugby matches. We pride our game on not needing police but maybe we need to reconsider.

If these mindless psychopaths are ever caught they should be charged with attempted murder

| Hope everyone hurt are OK.
It doesn't surprise me, there is a minority at Warrington that are genuine s. Some are in the South Stand (corner near the away end) and others probably don't even go. I remember years ago at Wilderspool when a Warrington 'fan' put a brick in a bag and hit a Saints fan with it. It was horrible. I've never had problems at the HJ myself, but it can be a bit hostile walking away from the ground.
I don't like Warrington in general, but they do have some decent fans and it's those I feel for, as they will be tarnished with this reputation.

They were looking for a fight, lots of macho bravado "get the f#ck out of my town" etc.
Not much the club can do really. It's a culture problem in warrington and more likely involved ppl who were not even at the game.'"
I don't believe that 'They were probably never at the game', could you not see the venom directed at us from that section of fans known as the Casuals.
I bet Ste of the Casuals (who frequents Wigan Today) is very happy this morning his 'troops' waded in last night.
Scumbags.

Like I said earlier in the thread, give me a Wigan Saints derby any day. Yes you may bet the odd dick'ead from both sides trying it on but it's not organised gangs like last night seemed to be (and is the normal everytime we visit).

Yeah, I've never had any problems with Wigan fans. Generally, you get knowledgable fans from both sets, having a good time, some banter and looking forward to the rugby. How it should be.

| I only feel comfortable going to Wire for friendlies now, and the last one got very very heated! With some bald fat git with a t-shirt in sub zero temperatures being thuggish towards elderly fans and young kids. I saw a mate in Wigan last night who'd been to the match and he was telling me about the fans hitting women and kicking off, I'm guessing he wasn't too far away from it all Hogan.
They definately have a problem, and it needs sorting out!

| Still disgusted at what happened, going to phone the police now and request more police presence after games. Yes every club has its idiots, but it was just mindless violence.
Not having a go at all wire fans at all, am guessing we were just unlucky enough to encounter the very worst of them, if they were actual fans (which i doubt). Luckily, there doesn't seem to be anything worse than bruises and a burned shirt.

I am not surprised//[iWarrington are scum and if I had my way they would be removed from superleague as I would sooner go to a crap ground like Salford and come away unscathed, than go to Warrington and risk the chance of being assalted[/i. What is more important?'"
what a in idiotic response.

| Sorry to hear about that mate, hope you and your girlfriend are ok.
I've not read all the replies to this but from the 1st page a few people seem to be classing all Warrington fans as scum and the worst in the league. ALL clubs have a small minority of idiots who like nothing more than to cause trouble.

Well get your owner to do something about the 1500 idiots young and old, male and female who stand in chav corner nearest the away stand, who were stood offering us out with gestures at the end of the game.
Watching the game again last night and I saw that the majority of Wire fans around the ground seemed to be males aged between 16-50, with a sprinkling of kids knocking about - no surprise really, I wouldn't want my kids in atmospheres like that every fortnight.
If your owner really wants the club to progress he could do with ejecting the idiots from Chav corner and concentrate on bringing families in from the more affluent areas in Warrington as opposed to the hellholes such as Orford and Landgate which are populated with Salford overspill.

| Very sorry to hear the news Hogan and Yicker, on a slightly less extreme note (although it could of turned nasty) 2 fellas with black jackets come to stand at the back of the Wigan stand and starting pointing and staring at people, me and my mates included. One had a bald head and the other was stocky with brownish hair, both were in their 40s. They shouted come on Wire to provoke response and nobody said anything until a guy in an old style wigan shirt told him to fudge off to his own stand, the bald mate started to walk but the other fella reluctantly did too, but walked down the aisle cockily looking at everyone like he wanted to start (even pensioners), everyone then started to call them s, the point is there was a steward right next to it who hardly moved an inch apart from holding back the innocent Wigan fan. Whats the need in coming to back of the stand when they obviously ain't wigan fans.
