Just watching the Wire highlights....cracking bl00dy hell Mathers moment just after half time that led to the Catalans try. Never lets you down does he?

Just watched that myself lol seemed a decent game but Wire looked tired and certainly got away with a few forward passes. Now being totally unbiased against Wire given the fact it didn't affect the result in the end anyway, what did you think to the obstruction ruling by Stuart Cummings which ruled out their try? Watched the replay a few times and to me its just a case of a bog standard move with a dummy runner who didn't prevent any defenders from getting to the man. As far as I'm concerned if all of a sudden tries are going to get disallowed without contact being made with the man running through and with no blocking taking place they might as well can the use of dummy runners so there'd never be an overlap and the only tries you'd ever see would be clean breaks from interceptions, prop forwards forcing themselves over from a few yards out and hookers diving over the line from the play the ball. I just don't get why the rule should be any different to the rule about crossing in general play! Also I don't know if its just random or not but everytime I watch highlights of the Catalans games it seems to be Cummings as VR, don't blame him if he puts himself forward every time to get a few days away (assuming he's actually there and not just doing it from Red Hall whilst watching on video?) Also I wonder if its paid for by the French broadcaster with them having the rights to show most of the Cats games?

Thought it was a try. Both Briers and Westwood got to the man anyway so neither were 'taken out'. Was a superb dummy runner move.

I agree that disallowed try early in the second half should have been given, too.
Fortunately it didn't affect the result.

I thought both of Catalans' tries that were disallowed by the video ref were, in fact, tries.
Conversely, Warrington's first try began with a knock-on, not a charge down.
The game just showed how much effort Wire put in against Wigan. An effort they obviously could not sustain.

of course they put loads of effort into last week. Difference is they could maintain the effort the week after, Wire clearly couldn't.

but we could contain you and beat you, you couldnt handle it obviously. and we nearly beat catalan
