She was amazing, best player on the pitch. The heart of a lion. Even more impressive as she was playing on a team of four players against a team of five and she scored about four tries.

This is the same poster who went missing for 7 days when we beat Saints in the semi. Has a track record for it to (under all his pseudonyms).

Was right in front of us, it was the only bit of rugby I enjoyed all night!

| Well I wasn't expecting that!
I'm not usually over confident before any game but I was expecting a win albeit it might be far tighter than the bookies were suggesting.
As a previous poster said from minute one we didnt look at the races.
Leeds were obviously fired up with a good game plan to boot which they executed with some aplomb.
As a team we played poorly and if I'm honest if Leeds, with a little bit more patience, could and probably should have put 50+ on us.
Leeds bagged Field and we had little else to offer in attack.
As a few have said a bit pointless picking out individuals to "blame" for he result as no one stood out and most players played well below par and basically were not up for the fight that a good Leeds performance demanded.
A few players, particularly Field, look in need of a rest that will be difficult to deliver with every remaining game being crucial if we are to get the 2nd spot.
What the match did fully expose is our lack of good quality centres and for me once again demonstrates "shuffing in" a second rower is clearly not enough against any decent team. We need 2 centres before 2023 and anyone thinking that we can get away with just 1 is living with the fairies. If Halsall is available but doesn't getg selected against HKR then I can only assume he is probably on the way out which would mean as a squad, for me, we would need 3 new centres for the squad.
Not the end of the world but a good kick up arris that perhaps a few players and coaches may have needed.
Leeds look to be turning the corner which was was painful for me last night but is a major plus for the game. The Leeds fans generated a really good atmosphere last .

She has the best side step I've seen for a long long time.
Great to watch her play with such enthusiasm.

The centre position needs urgent attention. I look at Huddersfield and for 2023 it’s likely they’ll have 3 or 4 senior centres in their squad from a list of Cudjoe, Leutele, Wardle, King, Naiqama and Bibby. As things stand for 2023 we have Thornley and that’s it (plus Halsall but I’m referring to senior options). We need at least one centre for next season and ideally two (certainly if Halsall continues to be overlooked). I must admit last night put a pin in my preference of going for Thompson at the expense of other signings. We have to fix up the issues at centre first before looking at anything else.

| You'd think that after last night if Halsall doesn't get a run at centre soon there's not much hope for him, only other explanation is the staff have decided stopping at Newcastle rather than dipping in and out of the first team is better for his development

He shouldn’t be dipping in and out of the team. If he is not considered a better centre than Isa and Bibby then the club need to show him the door. Personally, I think he should be in our 17.

I do wonder if they'll go after Bibby if they can keep hold of Leutele to be honest I don't think they will

| Quote: jonh "Agree with this.
Isa has been a great servant to Wigan however he is unable to consistently perform to a good standard, age and the brutality with which he has played over the years is catching up with him.
I personally have been a big advocate of him getting games over Halsall however I now think it’s time to give youth a chance.
I have absolutely no inside information on this it’s just a total hunch but given Huddersfield have just signed Naiqama I wouldn’t be surprised to see us making a move to potentially pair up Leutele and Wardle at Wigan which may see Isa retire/move on despite having another year on his contract.'"
Isa seems to have a bad game every week, like Clubb did, like Burgess (both) but for some reason they are un-droppable. Sean O'Loughlin towards the end had quite a few bad games, Handling errors and high tackles and it was clear he was slowing down but with Lockers, you knew damn well he wouldn't have a bad game the week after and he had more than earn't the right to have the odd bad game. Powell to me is different though. He infuriates me to watch but it might not be entirely his fault. There was a season under Lam (can't remember which) and he decided to throw his usual game out of the window. He was scooting, he was charging at the line and he was throwing long passes and he was brilliant. That's what infuriates me, he has it in his locker so why doesn't he play like that all the time? He get's it from dummy half and throws a 5 yard pass and that's him done in terms of attacking. It can't be the coach (can it?) surely because O'Neill was the polar opposite when he got a run and was exciting to watch, now Partington has took his place in the side who can't make a yard. Saints have had the best 2 hookers in Super League since it's inception and both of them play the way they want. Cunningham and Roby both brilliant in their own way. Roby for me is much better than Cunningham was, not to say Cunningham wasn't good because he was outstanding in his own right but Roby, even now strikes fear into the opposition defence and will tackle you for 80 mins. Just let the shackles off Powell and make him play like a hooker should play, there needs to be some invention in the opposition 20. Other sides must know as soon as he gets the ball a flat pass is going either to the left or the right and Farrell or Bateman will be running onto it. Mix it up a bit.

And that try between the legs, how on earth was that allowed ?

Anybody with any Knowledge of RL will be querying that decision, its unbelievable that 2 SL officials thought that was a try, even as a fan who's team benefited from it, its disturbing to see, between officiating and the Disciplinary, they're ruining our game.
The 'late' hit on Oledzki was another, absolutely bonkers decision, the Wigan player barley grazed him with his hand.
Games fu*ked if something dosnt change quickly

Yellow cards for pushing each other in the game last night as well.
In terms of officiating the season can’t end soon enough. It’s been the worst I’ve ever seen and they need a sit down with people around the game and a reset in time for 2023.

Add to that the "tip" tackle by French!!
It'll be interesting to see the referees appointments for next weekend?
