I think the clubs are regretting this TV deal. It must be harming Wigan badly because I know quote a few who are now struggling to attend games. My friend wants to bring her nephew to a match but the options in an afternoon both home and away are almost non existent.

I used to struggle getting back for the Friday home games on time, even when i lived in Cheshire!
So now in South Wales? Complete & utter non-starter.
Sky / Wish FM is the only option these days.
As a long-time season ticket holder, the move away from weekend matches has been a real attendance killer for me - and i suspect many others as well.
Properly not good for the sport.

I suppose Friday night games do disenfranchise those who live miles away. Thursdays & Mondays are the real issue with work or school the day after. But the 12-14k who trot up regardless are the only ones the club is really bothered about. It's a good 2 hour trek by road from the east coast, but the 'ulls send a decent number over (what Hudd's excuse is I still can't work out) and the wendyballers have to put up with much worse.
Paradoxically, with the pathetic deal the RFL did with Sky, it's even more galling that they are allowed to mess us about and dictate game time in the way they do, but aside from having a whinge about it every other week there's bgr-all we can do.
