I blame Nobby for jinxin it on the radio early on. He said more or less the same as the Sly mob. Although he also reckoned Giants & the Stainers were going to win through too. It is mushroom season after all.

TBH it was apparent that the Leeds middles where looking out on their feet and half gaps where beginning to appear but then we went and took all the pressure off by kicking for 2 when we already had a 2 point lead. I think that gave your middles just that bit of a breather they needed to regroup. We should of kicked it into the corner and tried to win the game rather than taking the 2 and looking to close the game out.

It was a definite turning point in the second half. Leeds didn't make the same mistake when 4 points up, kept the ball down that end. It was a very very close game, margins so fine.

| For what it's worth I think you were hard done to for two of Leeds' tries. First one should have chalked off as a player to the immediate right was offside from the chip through and within the ten when McGuire picked up, not sure if that counts unless a Wigan player touches it? Second one was clearly a knock on. Had Leeds fans around me trying to convince themselves and others that it went definitely went back, had to shake my head. You did well to stay in it though at the same time. Only Bowen had a good game for you tonight, everyone else was patchy at best.

Sorry, but while he offered a lot in attack he had a shocking time in defence in the first half.
He was nowhere to be seen for the first try, had an opportunity to take down Hardaker before he managed to offload for the second and completely gave up covering for the third.
His, admittedly dazzling try doesn't cancel these issues out for me.

As soon as burgess grabs watkins shirt bowen totally stops, and then mcguire swoops in right infront of him to score. Had he carried on anything could have happened, he could have tackled mcguire, or made the grounding difficult, or even Mcguire losing the ball under the pressure of a tackle. The try could have been prevented, and if the second half played out the same way with wigan only been 4 down, totally different story.
Those are the small '1%ers' that aren't often noticed.

Fair points. Sometimes defensive frailties slip by and the attacking turns stick in the memory.

He's a friend of mine but I agree, he had a disaster tonight. Everything went wrong

| He's been garbage for a long time,he complimented Blake green but all creativity came from Blake.I think moving him to the bench as an interchange hooker/back up half would be a good move, especially having Hampshire waiting in the wings.

| Re. Mcguire's try, if the red had given no try the VR would have maintained the decision.
I still think it was worthwhile looking at Hall being offside on the winning try - it looked like there was a good chance he was but it went straight to try.
Leeds won it by having the mental strength to stay in the game. Wigan lost it by not making the most of their strengths in playing on the edges once they had knackered the middles. They should have changed their game in the last 20.

| Micky Mac deserves some criticisim for the final try. He totally switched off and didn't go with Walters who was in acres of room (which I found strange at the time).
He needs a good off seasons rest IMO. He's been nowhere near his best for a while now and looks jaded.
