Quote: ThePrinter "Not touchy at all, just debating a point. You've gotten all touchy when people have questioned it which they're allowed to do.

Forwards lay a platform for the backs, one without the other and any team is going to struggle to win titles.

Forwards don't win titles,
Backs don't win titles,
Both together win titles.

As for Leeds' forwards. Peacock sounds fresh and ready to go and feeling the benefit of another full pre-season. Sinfield won't be loose. Ablett I think could have a big year if left to the backrow instead of his almost customary switch to fill in at centre (perhaps more possible with the addition of Briscoe in the backs). Two not mentioned, Singleton (Front Row) and Ward (backrow) are both young and big things to come from them. Liam Sutcliffe too may get some games in the backrow. Bailey as is usual, can be good when he concentrates on playing instead of being villain. Delaney I think is underrated by plenty in the league, he's struggled with injuries but still only 28.

Leuluai I would say is a worry if still starting. If Singleton steps up to start with Peacock then Leuluai can do a decent job off the bench though. JJB just needs less minutes and a spot on the bench maybe.

My starting forwards would be.....

8 - Singleton
9 - Aiton
10 - Peacock
11 - Ward
12 - Delaney
13 - Ablett

14 - Leuluai
15 - Bailey
16 - JJB
17 - Burrow (prefer to see Burrow come off the bench for Aiton but fear it'll be Burrow starting)'"

Plus Achurch - Big lump of a forward that struggled with injury but looked impressive when he started to get settled.

I do see why a few Wigan fans that think our pack is old and tired, it does look that way to people outside the Leeds bubble. However they are unaware of Ward, Singleton & Achurch who all 3 could be immense this season. If Leeds' veterans stay injury free and McDermott can rotate his squad then Leeds will be difficult to stop due to the back line.

Not the view of us all. I would have loved Briscoe here but that would have only hampered Burgess' progress who has imo massive potential. I for one will not be writing Leeds off. Ward, Singleton and Sutcliffe are 3 of the best prospects in the country and have a good blend of youth and experience. We aren't the only side with a good youth system, Leeds, Saints, Warrington, Bradford and a few others are very capable of readying a good youngster.

I do like the way you've managed to have a pop at the two clubs that over the last few years between them have won more silverware and been in more finals than the rest of the league put together......... icon_rolleyes.gif

so what your saying is only 3 teams in the last two years have truly won anything.

EDIT and also we have won the same amount of silverware in those two years as both clubs if your going to include league leaders and world challenges. In 3 years we have won 1 less piece of silverware than both of you put together.

Leeds will be in with a shout in 2014, the very nature of the competition is designed so that you do not have to be the best team or most consistent throughout.

If it were a situation of finish top and you are champions, no chance for them, but you only have to be better on 1 occasion on any given day.

Whilst it is easy to be critical of age, the experience and toughness their pack has is a major benefit to them in big games.

It is crazy to write them off.

Why include league leaders? All 14 teams are aiming to win the Grand Final, not necessarily finish top. Over the last 10 years Leeds have won 6 Grand Finals and 3 World Club Challenges. In the same period we have won 2 Grand Finals and 2 Challenge Cups and Wire have won 3 Challenge Cups. We have a long way to go to catch up with them IMO, and a big reason they consistantly win trophies is that they keep a settled side together. That's why is crazy to write them off

Is it silver or colored like silver? Does only 1 team get it for accomplishing something? if yes then its a prize and silverware.

also the person said the past few years not the past decade.

also i never wrote anybody off just correcting somebody.

If Leeds get their first choice 17 to a final it would be a brave man who bets against them, looks to me like their best squad for a couple of seasons.
