| If Wire are there for the call, would it not be interesting to pick them ie knock the favourites out on home turf.

given they will likely win tonight, we can't pick them. in the event that they lose this evening but win next week, why on earth would we pick the best team out of the lot? to prove a point? no chance!

| Can we pick Wire if they lose? I thought we couldnt pick second place at all or does it become Saints that we wouldnt be allowed to pick?
Not that we would pick Wire just interested.
In fairness though; doesnt Wane think the club call is a joke? So isnt he likely to automatically pick the lowest ranked team?

Yes.
We can't pick the other team that qualifies for the knock out semi-final by winning the first game.

in 2010 despite coming top due to losing in week 1 vs Leeds we lost our home game in week 3 after beating Hull KR at home in week 1. The club call went to Saints and had to pick between us and Huddersfield. Winners of the 1st v 4th and 2nd v 3rd get the home games and can't be selected in club call.

Personally I think the rest of the playoffs will go
I'll settle for that, I would think Catalan would beat Leeds at home and fancy us to turn them over at the DW.
p.s. I got your Steve Menzies book signed last night, sorry for the delay

| Thanks for the replies. Didnt think about the home advantage aspect. In hindsight it was probably a silly question.
I cant see us picking anyone other than bottom.

Well, today's result has removed any possible doubt.

| When we had club call a few years back, I wanted us to pick Wigan in the semi not huddersfield.
Wigan were the big rivals and not to be too disrespectful, I thought we could have handled pretty much everyone else in the final that year.
But Wigan had been so dominant. I just thought if we were going to beat them then at home in a semi, we stood more chance than in a grand final were the fans cannot really get into the players or the ref as it's so noisy.
No one can say if the result would have been different, but Wigan last game ever at KR in a semi for the GF, it just seamed made to be. Where as Saints v Wigan in the final it just seamed too comfortable for Wigan.
So I would say there is an arguement to pick the tougher team at home rather than in the final. But then I would not mind Saints getting Leeds or Catalan at LP. So I'm a bit biased.

Wane mentioned that he would not mind having another go at the Rhinos to avenge the CC semi defeat; whether they can beat the Catalans away is a tough call but whoever comes through that game will have taken a battering. The Saints win will make the next game against Wire (they should win against FC or Giants) another real play off battle.
There will be no surprise choice just the lowest ranked team which should be the easier route to the GF.

| As others have already said, just the lowest ranked team will do.

| Lets be honest at the start of the play offs Wolfs, Stains or ourselves were not gonna select any of the other two if us three were in the club call. It was always going to be the fourth team which would be selected. After last nights perfrmance from Wire could the CC be catching up with them?

| I'm still on for a Wigan v Saints GF.
Would be another fantastic occasion.
Less scrapping in the stands than a Wigan v Wire game, too.
