| We're travelling all the way from Lancashire to Montpellier by train - in terms of time spent on the train, it works out at 8 hours on the move, which isn't bad at all when you consider that it gives us chance to break our journey in London and Paris for some sight-seeing (including coming home via the England v Sri Lanka test match at Lord's), and avoids airport transfers, baggage checks, etc.
The whole return train journey worked out at £175 (we may need to chuck in another quid or two for London Underground/Paris Metro connections) and three nights at the Citadines Apart'Hotel in central Montpellier works out at £53, which we think is a great price for what looks like a nicely central and well kept place (fingers crossed!).
Really looking forward to the city centre party on the Friday night; hope there are plenty of local RL fans joining in too so that the experiment pays off.

| Thanks for all the information, much appreciated. It's given me a good view of the different options available, last year on Sky looked awesome. I know it was Perpignan but still it looked a blast, looking forward to it.

Yep, it was in the programme for the Catalans home game but it doesn't seem to have been promoted anywhere else that I've spotted.
It didn't state the location, but there's going to be a city centre venue hosting a party and they'll be showing the Friday night Sky game live.
On the day itself, they're going to set up an 'RFL fan village' at the stadium and the curtain raiser will be Ince Rose Bridge v Ambition Dragons. There are also plans for a post-game party at the stadium.
I've no idea what form any of the events will take from the limited info in the programme, but I'm sure there will be plenty of Wiganers there whatever happens!
Other good notes from the same article are that Montpellier is four times the size of Perpignan, is 10 mins from the beach, and enjoys the most days of sunshine per year of any city in France!

For those who prefer sitting behind the sticks (Wigan have been given seats on the side to sell at the DW), you can buy online direct from Catalans now - www.catalansdragons.com/index.ph ... erie-ligne
The tickets behind the sticks are 7 euros, so they're less than half the price than the ones Wigan have been allocated.
If your French isn't too clever, use the drop down box in the bottom left corner to convert the site into passable English. You print your own e-tickets via this site so there are no booking fees.

This sounds great! We're in a Novotel about 15 minutes walk from the Place de la Comedie (which I believe is the city centre). A party on Friday night will be brilliant. I have a 5 hour drive from about 7:30am the morning after the game, so a post match party doesn't have the same attraction

| Flights to Nimes and then a train to Montpellier isn't a bad option. From memory the train tickets are about £30 and there's a shuttle bus from Nimes airport to the railway station in Nimes.

Registered, should be a great weekend, will be a nice change from Perps, think we will have a good following, already got my tickets from Wigan on the side, pity they didn't give us one end but at least it will better than the golf seats in the corner at Perps.
