Not true. He was so embarrassing at Wigan he dropped a n in his name to try and fool clubs into thinking he was another player. Obviously only Widnes and Leigh were daft enough to be fooled.

I know that it was over the space of about 6 years that it went down hill we had no constancy in playing staff or coaching staff everything was a quick fix. This is why the club needed rebuilding from the bottom upwards and why we now need some constancy in both playing staff and coaching staff 7 to 10 years of neglect cannot be put right in 3 years. We dont need quick fixes we need the 5 year plan to get us back to where we should be.

Some of the problems probably stem for the salary cap. Don't worry I'm not going into a xBrettKennyx style rant . We had to shed senior players quickly when the salary cap was introduced and that may have gone someway to destablising the youth/old heads balance.

| Poor management of the cap was the reason for the club turning to . We had a few players earning top whack and the rest on peanuts. This is the mess IL is still trying to sort out.

It is as simple as that. Bradford suffered with the same problem. Hence why we are both mid table at present.

And yet people still complain that we don't sign big name players every season. There's clearly a fine balance to be had, and Wigan's claims that they're in the process of trying to get it right might actually be true. Perhaps we should think about that when we get peeved that massive imports sometimes go to other clubs apart from us.

I think so. It wasn't all down to a raft of players leaving over a season or two. It also didn't just happen when the SC turned up.

I don't think there is anything in common with the two situations. Bradford have had more success than us since 1998 and I am sure Rads is on about a gradual decline that started at least as far back as that.
A lot of the reactions so far in this thread seem to think what he is on about all happened fairly recently and I don't think he is at all.

| id pin that on the wall of lenegans office, and nobles office. good job weve got radders on the coaching staff who could get that into most of the players.
and another thing the players who we lost were in key positions
we lost a full back, scrum half, hooker, loose, and our two best props in super league in a year!
not the players who you want to be losing!

| After reading that, it's great to see Kris working for the club.
I hope he climbs the ladder and is able to make an impact on the club in time to come.

| The thing i noted the other day about Rads saying the young lads wouldn't take a bollo*king and would just laugh at it with his mates is hopefully over and i think it probably is.
If we looks through the youngsters here at the moment like Sam and Joel Tomkins, O'Carroll. Prescott, McIlorum etc etc they all seem quite professional.
Hopefully the professionalisim and work ethic of the club is heading back in the right direction but it really would hep i their were a couple of playing leaders like a Faz or Radlinski about.

| Why don't they send Radlinski down to Aus with the aim "go find us some top quality centres - they have to be under the age of 23, willing to move to ESL and off contract at the end of the year" - give him as much budget as possible (in terms of watching NRL games, Toyota Cup, could have been Super 14's too if neccessary) and see what he comes up with?
Does IL or Nobby ever ask those in charge of the youth setup which positions we are strong in?
Pointless going out and signing another back row forward from Oz if we have 9 of them coming through in the next two or three yars.
Also with regards re-structuring of the club's wage budget this can only be done as and when contracts expire - Fielden seems to be the big earner so we won't be able to do anything about his contract until the middle of 2010 (when we can start spending it for 2011) so 2011 looks the earliest we're able to start seeing some major differences.

| My father in law used to work at a municipal golf club heading out towards Chorley and a few of the Wigan lads come down and play there and play. Most of the lads were good and polite especially Fletcher but he had a few problems with a promising young star of the time, no longer at the club, who was cocky, arrogant and petulant when asked to pick [ihis[/i litter up and put it in the bin that was 10 yards away from where he dropped it.
