Please! Fair credit to the boys, they performed extremely well, but one win does not a contract extension justify...

The Nobby Doubters.....
Me thinks you have been hangin with Hock a little too much..
The team had poor discipline and ball handling again today with Nobbys sprog aka White Flag Fielden being responsible for around half of Wigan's Penaltys or handling errors.
You and people with your attitude have contributed to Wigans downfall.

It was always going to happen. One win and suddenly BN and the Wigan team are world beaters.
We won, fair enough hat's off to the lads. But it doesn't mean that the wrongs are rights.

I don't know about that. Cast your eyes on a few threads and he is criticised for his substitutions.
In any case with Noble the damage is done already. I also don't like the way he ignores form when picking players so as far as I am concerned we would win the lot from now on and I'd still like to see a new coach here for 2010.
Really pleased we won a close game tonight but that won't change my opinion of Noble as that has been formed by his entire record here over the last 3 years.

You mean saving us from relegation and getting us to within 80 mins of the GF?
I am not suggesting I agree with all Nobby's decisions, far from it. However, I think the criticism he faces on these boards is well OTT.
As for other coaches being bandied around, Justin Morgan was hailed by some on here as a tactical genius. I saw no evidence of that on todays evidence.
Again, not criticising Morgan as I agree he is a good coach, however, to hail him as a genius and Nobby as hopeless is completely wrong.
The real answer is that they are both good coaches.
I will re-iterate again though that Nobby has to play to the conditions of the competition. This means peaking in September/October. He hasn't done a bad job of doing that in his coaching career.

Even if we had won the GF, it wouldn't make us a great team.

? So you would rather win 95% of your games and not win the competition, than win say 65% of your games and win the competition.
Just for the sake of argument?

Just for the sake of argument, if Nobby hadnt dropped Sam for the home game against HKR we may have won, and in the same breath if useless aussie Tim Smith hadn't been injured Sam would have been on the bench instead of earning a MOM performance..

But that is not the point I made. I asked a specific question. You have chosen not to answer it.
For the record, I think ST is a fantastic talent who we need to be very careful with. I think there is a real danger of him burning out or picking up an injury if we are not careful.

| It's uite obvious we have a whole load of plodders in the team. Phelps, Smith, Coley, Fielden, Roberts, Riddell. All need clearing out.
