| Goulding had a solid debut and continued his form from last season. The clown berating him for being out of position for the Try must be extremely dumb.

| The reality is that it was a great spot and pass from Tommy Leuluai to see that Shenton was slightly too far infield.
Had that been one of the England players making that pass we would have been calling it sublime.

im not being biased just dont think goulding had a good game.'"
Mate were you drunk while you watched the game?
Griffin was absolutely shocking, one of the poorest displays I have seen from an English front row forward. Offered nothing going forward and was poor in defence lacked any mobility at this level.
Poor choice and must be dropped next week for Crabtree who despite having an average season offers something different at this level.
Goulding had for me a strong game as did Briscoe on the other side. I am not a huge fan of Goulding truth be told, i think many of his tries this year have been laid on for him, but to be fair he has to be there to finish them but he does not offer much threat. Today he defended well and carried the ball strongly especially brining it out from the ruck, made good yards and showed a desire to keep moving forward which was good.
Players who were poor today or underperformed were in no particular order...Roby, Ellis, Griffin, Joel & Sam Tomkins, Atkins and Widdop.
I appreciate Sam may raise an eyebrow to some but he just lacked that zip and I feel he is carrying an injury into that game he did not offer much, but the Kiwi's were all over him at 7, he improved when he moved to 1 but still feel when he put that ball to Shenton, Sam fully fit would probably have made the break himself after drawing 2 players in and beating them.
Westwood is excellent at this level. Rough tough and takes no crap, I personally felt Robinson and Brown improved from last week and went OK.
The most frustrating thing for me is the coaches sending the players out with such a negative game plan. Let them show there skills for gods sake! We are far more dangerous when we look to keep the ball alive and it is the only chance we have of making any impact on the big 2.
It was like watching a Brian Noble coached Wigan team today, and it is no coincidence the coaches have such close links with Nobby and the style we chose to play today.

Corrected for accuracy.
Not happy with the standard of reffing today at all.
We did not deserve to win BUT we could have if the refs had got a few calls right today, which for me they did not and any 50/50 went against us, apart from the Robinson knock on prior to his long break.

| Whenever I want a laugh on here I can usually find it when StainsFan decides to write something about the game.
Today's comedy gold moment is that it was Goulding's fault for the first try because he wasn't on his wing having just made a try saving tackle in the last play.

I write about 'the game' plenty of times and I get as many agreeing with me as I do laughing at me. I don't give a fook. I stand by what I said. Goulding shouldn't have been infield in the first place when the Kiwis were so close to our line. You say he was saving a try, but a try was still scored from that same set of six. Therefore, he didn't save a try at all. However, had he stayed in position then he might well have saved a try and I would have been congratulating him on saving a try on debut.
But anyway, it was one mistake out of an otherwise good game from him.

If he hadnt of made the tackle before they did score they would of scored closer to the posts, nobody else would of stopped it so he wouldnt of have saved a try at all by being on his wing. Talk about clutching at straws to rip into a Wigan player. FFS.

Very true, so predictable in so many of the carries, sadly, with the coaches we are using I see no improvement.

And just to prove my point.
He saved a try on the previous play, because he had to come in as there was a two to one overlap had he not. Had his team mates shifted across as they should have done, they would have stopped the next one too. But to say he made a mistake in making a ball and all tackle to stop a try is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time on here, and lets face it there's loads of competition on that score.

So basically you are suggesting Goulding should have allowed them to score rather than make the tackle as he clearly knew they would score on the next play?
The notion that Goulding should not come in field to make the tackle is simply idiotic. Rather than blame Goulding why not consider the other 12 players that failed to number up and cover the place left by him in the defensive line?
Goulding by making the tackle stopped them scoring nearer the sticks and also ensured that the Kiwi's had to come up with a further play to score, which could have, and in my opinion did go wrong via a forward pass. Had the refs been right the forward pass would have been awarded the try would not stand and Goulding saves the try. As it was the refs got it wrong and the try stood.
