| What makes me laugh are the people trying to shield their little dears from swearing naively thinking that they won't hear that at school or talk like that when they are around their own peers. The same parents that let their children stay up after 9PM or buy them an 18 rated computer game or let them watch a 15cert film with occasional swearing.
If you like it or not it's ingrained in to society and a tape recording or a steward is never going to change it. People may bring up racism and tell us how that's disappeared in the grounds, the same people are still there, their views are the same but it's become unacceptable on so many more levels that they dare speak their warped views at a game.
Swearing will never even get close to being as socially unacceptable as racism.
It's hear to stay, so deal with it

I've read the same thread as you and I haven't seen anyone anyone post about letting their kids stay up late or play 18 rated games and the like. In fact I haven't even seen anyone say they don't think their kids hear swearing at school or anywhere else? Where are you pulling this from?

| I brought it up, people like to shelter their little dears and then inadvertently become a hypocrite, besides i've also said i don't agree with it but realistically know it's never going to change in my lifetime.

| Most people swear, it's more common than not in society. If kids or adults find swearing in a non-threatening manner so distressing then they're going to have a hard time in the real world.
If kids are brought up right, they know not to swear until they're at an age when it's up to them whether they do or don't.
Get real.

Eh? But you said you find it funny that people think their kids won't hear swearing at school and that it's the same people who let them play 18 rated games and such. Are you making up people to call hypocrites?

If kids are brought up right, they won't become adults who swear in front of kids.

| Every time i get in to a discussion with you i'm on FM and you're on LW.
You pull me up on the little things rather than the general message.
In short
Nothing will change so don't be precious.
Otherwise you're going to go through life feeling a little worn out.

To be fair, you were attempting to exacerbate the general message with your made up hypocrites. I don't personally see anything wrong with parents wanting other people not to swear in front of their children, I'd find it more odd if they didn't, tbh. Of course if they were also letting their children play 18+ games that would harm their position regarding swearing, but then that's why you introduced it.

I'm sure we can all manage to disagree about a great many things, including what is appropriate behaviour at rugby matches, without feeling worn out. I've even managed to ask other adults not to swear in front of my children, on the rare occasions that have called for it, without feeling worn out in life.

| What a joke of a thread! Question for the people who get upset by swearing - have you ever sworn in your life? If you say no, you're f****** ( ) lieing! We have loads of 'acceptable' songs that contain swearing, so I don't get why it's suddenly an issue.
Five times in a roooow
Five times in a roooooooow
You've played awfully dreadful

| Personally, I don't see any reason for the f word in that song.
Five times in a roooow
Five times in a roooooooow
You went and lost it
Five times in a roooow
Would get the point over equally as well.

| Electric warrior, you sound like a busy body. The kind that has an oppinion on everything and an answer to go with it. The top and bottom is everyone knows that kids shouldnt hear constant swearing, but I also feel matches are no place for young children because of the bad language ect. (I'm not saying young children shouldn't be brought just a personal opinion) songs with occasional swear words are funny, abit tabboo and that's why people like them. If your going to tell people to mind their language you may as well follow your kids round your entire life. Remember back to when you were young, you would have heard swearing all the time, however you never used it because it was 'naughty' until you were at an older age. You have still turned out ok not wanting your kids to hear it, however it is just the excat situation, your kids will hear it and know it is bad, but if they have any respect for you they won't use it.

I have sworn?
Yes
Do I swear at full volume in a crowd of people?
No

Obviously people don't think they're acceptable, hence this thread.
It's something that's been brought up a few times this season.
