| Only one pussy and thats Wilkin. Cunningham wouldnt of cried to the ref he would have sorted it himself, as would 99.9% of the rest of players.

| Quite an interesting read when combined with the othe posts regarding this topic.
You have missed the one positive side to all this, which is that Lima has considered the evidence against him and , along with the club, has pleasded guilty.
He obviously beleives that he did smething wrong and has thrown his hands up.

Thats rather immature. Where do we stop, when all players are are fighting each other because somebody did something wrong. The role of the officials is to sort this out either at the time or subsequently through the use of direct or video evidence.

Or more likely he gambled that throwing himself on the mercy of the court might result in a slapped wrist.
Welcome to the RFL way of doing things, Jeff.

| Not being immature. Just think that this could be the start of things to come. Do we want to end up like football, waving imaginary cards at the ref.Its a tough game played by tough men and i like to see it that way.

There's no pleasing some is there. Get them blinkers off lad and grow a pair. Sometimes being honest is the right thing to do.

| Regardless of what many say I don't have a problem with players raising genuine concerns with the ref. Having said that, the manner in which this is done is pivotal. Any complaints in the form of dissent should and do result in sin binning so I have no problem with a player pointing out foul play. Lima made some foolish fouls and has been duly punished. The only issue I have is that this punishment would suggest that these 2 incidents were either the only incidents of this type or the worst carried out all weekend. I would suggest that they weren't the only cases and the argument that they weren't penalised at the time doesn't wash with me.

Which is precisely why players who try to make a tough game dangerous through cowardly, sneaky things like chicken wings need to be pulled up on it.
Chicken wing tackles can and have ruined careers; I see no problem with players objecting to them.

I see it as an honest game played by honest men, that includes those that have been caught and owned up to their offences. Your way appears dishonest and cowardly?

No they weren't. Murphy, Wakefield, got a two match ban for a dangerous throw, but he's appealing; Steve Snitch got a one match ban for something else and Godwin got a two match ban for throwing a punch. If you go by the number of games missed through a ban then Murphy and Godwin were worse than Lima since Lima got a one match ban for two offences.

Obviously took what i mean the wrong way. I dont want us to turn into football thats all.
Since rugby began things happen on a pitch that shouldnt but are usually righted by the wronged person.

Oooh - eh! Tough guy talk because someone proposes an alternative argument.
I'm not suggesting he did nothing at all. But perhaps it's a matter of degree. Few people I know who saw the game felt he'd committed a grievous offence. There was no explosion of anger at the time. It's entirely possible he felt that if he put his hand up and spared the court an inquest, he'd be dealt with leniently. It happens all the time in real legal affairs.

Clearly we don't want to descend into the farce that is soccer but retaliation isn't really an ideal solution. Many bad hits and severe injuries can occur when there is deliberate play of that kind.

Now this is what I'd call a real man's approach. In fact, I think the whole matter has been dealt with by men, rather than some of the immature idiots posting on this forum. Wilkin was man enough to go through the proper channels to protect other players, fully aware that he was likely to get stick for doing it. The men at the RFL were man enough to examine the evidence and upon seeing it charge and find Lima guilty of the offences, warning him that it would be worse for him next time around. Lima was man enough to admit to those offences and the Wigan coach man enough to allow due process rather than do a Leeds coach and try to get his player off. That's how all these processes should be dealt with. I'm all for a bit of biff and I enjoy the physicality of rugby league, but that is all open and above-board. Chicken wing tackles are cowardly cheap shots and career-threatening.
