The way I see it is you have two types of football supporter when it comes to RL.
Those who are sheep and refuse to enjoy any other sport other than their own, the kind who would sit in a pub on a Tuesday night and watch a boring 0-0 game between Brentford vs Yeovil, yet would sit texting / chatting whilst ignoring the fact that Wigan v Saints in a thriller was on the tv in the corner.
Ask them to watch and they would state 'its boring'.
Then there are the types who will come along to a few games and love it, or will comment about how good the Friday night match was, even though they are predominantly a footballing fan.
Season before last, I brought along a staunch Man United supporting colleague (season ticket holder for years) who doesn't live in the town to a few games. (He'd been to a few games at CP well over a decade ago as a kid and had loved it). Last season he bought a season ticket and came to a good few away games as well.
He's renewed for this season. Now get this, when we were planning Cardiff I noted that it was the Manc Derby (At Old Trafford) on the Saturday. Knowing he has a ST, I said 'I take it, you will be going to that, not Cardiff'.
'Nah, let's go to Cardiff'.
The Man Derby FFS......at home!!!!
I told him if it was the other way round I wouldn't miss Wigan/Saints at the DW for anything!!!!!
So going back to the thread, its obvious this tool is the former.
