I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew

Better hope the other team's coaches are kept well clear of you and your bricks if you do lose. If that sorry episode was an example of how your team's supporters "take it on the chin", I'd hate to be around when you really get narked over something.

You have absolutley NO EVIDENCE what so ever that any Leeds Rhinos fans (least of all me) were involved in that incident which took place well away from the ground
unlike the recent throwing incidents of Wigan fans witneesed by all inside the ground and seen on national TV to the disgrace of the game as a whole.
Wigan fans used to be at least a knowledgable and considerate lot but of late this new crop of bandwagonners they seem to have attracted are just bringing a once proud club in to disrepute

| plastic bottle or brick? I know which I would rather be hit by. I walked away from Headingley last week feeling quite intimidated due to the number of people who seemed to be looking for any excuse for a dust-up. We weren't antagonistic, weren't chanting or goading, simply walking back to our car. Leeds fans happy to dish it out when they win, but very poor losers.
I'm hardly a bandwaggoner, having seen CC successes at Wembley and Murrayfield, Grand Finals (winning and losing) at OT, as well as misery and almost relegation at the hands of Agent Millward.

Correct, it wasn't a flop, as the "tackle" wasn't complete. However there was no need for him to go in like that on a grounded player, as all he needed to do was place a hand on him to complete the tackle.
The circumstances of the initial "tackle" aside, us Wiganers can't shout too loud about McGuire, given Joel's "flop" a couple of weeks earlier.
Time to draw a line under all this though now, and lets all try to move on.

of course I am its the curse of being a supporter.
My beef with most of the Wigan fans on this thread is their refusal to accept they are as well.
On the Leeds forum we have had a previously respected Wigan poster citing an iplayer link to show how dirty the tackle was.
The commentators are muppets describing it as a "late" tackle. Any follower of the game with half a brain cell knows you cant be late if the opposition player still has the ball in hand.
Then they bring on a ref from the 70,s who is describing it as the worst deliberate and malicous elbow to the face he has ever seen.
What a joke...the tackle was reckless with the forearm coming into contact with the head but without malicace or being deliberate.
the 3 match ban is about right although reckless ( not deliberate) it could have caused serious injury.

3 matches was probably right although it could have been 4. I was a very bad attempt (at least i hope it was an attemt) at a tackle. If Ablett had previous i'm sure the ban would have been longer. I just can't work out what he was trying to do as you generally tackle with your shoulders and arms not with them tucked into your chest.
I just want the Diciplinary panel to be more consistant and more severe, it also annoys me that because no serious injury was caused they don't dish out big bans anymore. A few players getting 10 matches here and there might make them a bit more careful (that's across the board for every team)
