What a depressing thread...

Some of the vitriol against IL is unbelievable, as is the way that Wigan fans are at each others' throats.

Look, Noble has gone. Most people who wanted him to go (a) did not think he was a bad coach, just that he had had his chance and its time to move on (b) acknowledge that there is a risk the new coach may not be better than Noble.

We all need to get behind the new coach (and IL) and give them support. BN has left a solid platform, we have some great youngsters coming through and we know that Leeds and Saints are nothing special.

Lets look at the opportunities here - this could be the dawn of a new great era for Wigan.

We need to aim high. The target should be to match the standards of the top Aussie sides.

We did it before; it will be even harder these days with the CC, professional RU and those out to get the Wigan club in the RL establishment, but we can do it again, we can build another great side around the golden generation of young players emerging at Wigan.

We need IL and the new coach to set out the goal of being the best in the world again. We also need the fans to back the club in the fantastic way they did during the relegation season when we showed that the greatest club in the world has the greatest fans in the world.

Dont know how true it is but this has been doing the rounds for some time now. It could have been brought about by the one about I.L. still owing Whelan for part of the club Allegedly. Who knows only time will tell it will all come out in the wash as they say.

From being at John Rigby with them (many years ago ) I don't remember them being Wigan (or Rugby League) fans.
