I am glad you are show how good a player he is in your posts, most other fans say they hate him or cover his quality with jealousy.

All of us that watch the reserves knew Sam was ready mid-way through last season [Whitehaven in the cup anyone?]. The fact is Noble has been forced to play Sam and would not have done had he not had to. If Tim Smith would have been back for the playoffs Sam would be dropped either to the bench or the reserves.

Many said good things about him before that game.

| Quote: WIGAN FOREVER "Back to Tomkins - I commented to my wife after the game that this bloke can be anything in RL. Brave, fast, skilful, good handler, good tackler, step off each foot, awareness, and after the cas thug Sargeant's assault in the first half, he proved that he has bottle as well.
I haven't been as excited about a player since Sean Edwards. He also gave a very good interview after the match, not for the first time. Let the know nowts run him down. We have a gem here and he's our gem. Hopefully for a long time to come.'"
I think you have a cheek yeah sargent hit him late but to call him a thug is a bit strong
I didnt see you on here blasting tomkins and calling him a thug when he went and tried to seriously injury cunninghams knees when you play saints. pot calling kettle black i think

Most people are too jealous to acknowledge just how good he is. 2 of his three tries were World class and his other he supported extremely well for. I look forward to seeing the likes of Tomkins for you, Eastmond for Saints and Donaldson for us in SL for years to come, having players like Tomkins in the league can only improve it.

Oh trust me I was one of them. But that game just should have shown Noble that he was at least worth a Shot at the first team.

Sounds as though Sargent is better at fancy dress than he is at hitting people. With the size difference of the two, he should have knocked Sam for six with that shot.
Clearly, he isn't one for the kid to worry about in the future.
But the plain fact is you're all cacking yourselves about Sam Tomkins, and the vast majority of you are too unsophisticated to hide it.
As for Cunningham - bollox. He all but caved someone's face in a week or so earlier, and no-one gave a crap. Don't come crying Cunningham's case to us - it cuts no ice whatsoever.

I didn't try to defend him either. Are you defending Sargent? That shot was late, high and premeditated. It was also congratulated by the Cas on field runner, physio waterman or whatever you want to call him.

The games gone mad
The ball was in play so Tomkins tackled him around the legs. Not quite in the same league as an off the ball shoulder charge to somebodies face.
Cowardly act.

Dont you mean cunningham still had the ball in his possesion rather than the ball being in kicked down field. because when sargent hit tomkins the ball was still in play.
So basically you condone someone going to injury a fellow pro as long as he still has the ball.
Very Classy of you.
You must condone what david howell did to tomkins then cos he still had the ball when howell belted him.

And there are quite a few other great young players coming through as well.
Those 2 tries would of had stevo and Eddie creaming themselves had the aussies done that or Leon Pryce. They only did it a little bit for Tomkins so he must be ok

Cunningham was being tackled on the last, tackle WASNT completed, so he went in and finished him off, nowhere near the head, just unfortunate that it was on the knee area, didn't go to intentionally injur him whatsoever.
Sargeant went for Tomkins well after the ball had gone, off the ball, with his shoulder.
