| Quote: THEOriginalWire "I do and he was far from fantastic, no civonaceva(sp) or thaiday for example. He was an okay forward over there, nothing more, nothing less, so to describe him as fantastic is laughable given the wealth of talent available over there and how pathetic his performances for leeds have been. You are right, if you are paying the price for cross that moved o leeds then youll have a big hole in the pocket, but if your paying for what he performed like at leeds then you are all right and an extra player who is as experienced as he is then it could be a bargain. But probably shouldnt judge until he's made an appearance for you.'"
You've sure done a good job of that so far!

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, all of the things i said above.

We'll See, i hope he does give a good effort, for both yourselves and widnes, but as i stated before, he just did not look interested at Leeds, actually, i hope he stays like that for you too.
Well if you were told that you were not part of the coaches plans (a coach that wasn't in position when you agreed terms) you may not look interested.
Let's judge him AFTER he has played a few games for Wigan. That would make a lot more sense than the cr@p you are posting.

| I used to like watching Newcastle when Brian Smith was coach and watched every game of theirs I could from 08-2010, Cross caught my eye and I've been banging on about signing him for ages. I was suprised he weren't the player he was playing for Leeds but as MM and SW have proven they get the best out of players especially props, can't wait see him now.
Who knows, we might not want to give him to Widnes come the end of the season if Coley retires.

funny that.....

if you actually read what i posted before labelling it as crap, then you might not have wasted your time. You keep saying that McDermott told him he wasn't a part of his plans, but you don't cite a source, so your is this just your opinion, or some rumour crap?
Even if it is true, then i would work my off and make myself a part of his plans, you can't deny a player that is ripping it up. But Cross decided to have a hissy fit and not give his all, which shows that he's not top class, just a mard really. Again, IF what you're saying is true, Luke Burgess would probably have been told the same, difference being Luke worked hard and got himself a rewarding move abroad.

| I won't name my source for obvious reasons, just lets's say it is a very good one, and one I trust. He told me about the signing over two weeks ago.

fair do's, confidentiality and mates and all that, i respect that. But what i'm saying is, look at the reactions of two players, one an ex SOO player and one a no mark british lad, both told not in Mc'D's plans, one sulks whenever he's on the pitch and is nothing short of a waste of a shirt, and the other works hard without a complaint in the world and then goes to sign for a good club abroad. Cross gave up, Burgess worked hard for a place anyway, i know which i'd choose. Attitude says a lot about a person, IMO.

You're just making assumptions to suit your argument. If Cross had given up on himself do you think Madge would have risked derailing our season by bringing a rotten apple into the squad? Maguire has worked with Cross at two different clubs in the NRL so he's in a far better position to judge his character than anyone on this forum
Anyway, in a video interview on the Wigan site, Cross explains how difficult it has been for him to train on his own since his release from his Leeds contract when he's been without a club. Sounded like he's pretty committed to me, and if the opportunity to push for a place in a team that is challenging for silverware on two different fronts isn't motivavting I don't know what is

| Comes across very well on the official site interview
Pretty clear he was not impressed with his Leeds experience.

No i'm making a logical argument, if i get told at work, your not pulling your weight and you need to work harder or ship out, then i work harder, rather than having a sulk and leaving. I agree the MM is in the best position to decide on cross, and he decided to sign him, but IMO i would not have wasted the ink printing our his contract. but that is just my opinion, and i am entitled to it, whether people like it or not.

We know, there's an even bigger thread on the Dire forum about Cross signing than this one.
Not that the Dire are obsessed about Wigan we might add. You could have posted on there.

I wanted to share my opinions on the wigan thread, a lot of your boys are over there, so why not come over here, after all it isn't us who have signed him, so i can say what i like over there, but i would like to discuss wigan's new signing with wigan fans. Ta.
Nice to see you get petty about it though, as though you've never been on another forum, the use of the word Dire just shows how petty, i respectfully call your club by it's name, and would expect other's to be grown up enough to do the same.
