| After the early Wire try, that was soft from our point of view ,I was a bit worried, but our defence was good after that. Our wingers kept wide all the time and didn't let Wire get outside of us up until the 2nd Wire try. Some people earlier were saying Roberts got skinned for this but Wire actually got outside of Pryce and Roberts had to come in allowing Wire to get it out to the wing man.
Roberts had a decent game and Sam had a couple of good moments which is more than can be said for Richie Myler who was anonymous tonight.
as pointed out it was Goulding on the wing at this point not Roberts but the point stands that it was Pryce who was at fault not the wing man.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Just got back-
If we cut out the silly handling errors we might just have a team on our hands. The defence was outstanding especially in scrambling back and sliding across and it had to be because they put themselves under an awful amount of pressure at times.
The plus points for me-
Defence was outstanding
Roberts looked like a new man
Riddell and Feka looking very fit and in Feka's case so much more mobile then last year
I thought J Tomkins and Hansen looked very solid in the 2nd row
Leuluai looked his dangerous self
Deacon showed a couple of cracking touches when he came on and set the winner up
Mossop just gets the job done with metres and tough defence
Negatives
Far too many handling errors but thats about it.'"
Pretty much agree with everything you have said, especially about Amos. Looks like a completely different player from last year and looked dangerous with the ball.
Piggy looks a lot fitter as does feca who had a much bigger work rate. The treat for me was the brief glimpses of deacon and sam combining, we look far more threatening when we have the ball than we did last year.

It was goulding on that wing and the fault was pryce who got skinned by and didnt nail christ bridge thus causing goulding to have to move to tackle the centre, leaving riley free.
Pryce was simply done for off the mark pace.

Was it not Goulding who came in?
He came on with Pryce on that left hand side with Roberts and Gleeson being kept on the right.
The try was Pryces fault if anyone for not closing Bridge down quicker but to be fair it was a wow of a pass from Bridge to Reilly.

| The biggest positive from the game was our defence. We always used to tackle with intensity, but tonight we also tackled intelligently. It looked like players were using their heads, knowing when to move out and make a tackle and when to hold back, as well as wrestling well in the tackle.
Amos Roberts looked more like the player he was in the NRL. He reads the game very well, and his try showed good footwork and also great strength.
I'm pretty certain the starting 13 from tonight will be the same against the Crusaders with the exception of O'Carroll, who tried as hard as ever but just didn't get anywhere. Prescott may have started with an error but he was quite impressive. He's a very good attacking weapon when he passes the ball and he offloads well, so I'd expect him to make the team.
Deacon and Tomkins looks like it has the potential to be a very good partnership, and there is clear improvement from Riddell too.
In the back row, O'Loughlin picked up from where he left off last year with a very good display, Joel Tomkins was also very good, especially in defence where he looked solid. Mossop was solid too, although Hansen still seems to struggle going forward, but he was strong in defence.
It's a shame about Pryce getting injured though, but at least we have cover for him. It makes you wonder whether he's ever going to get over this long string of injuries.

| Sounds like a great performance and a great game to get us ready for the season. Gutted I couldn't make it.
All the signs are encouraging. I can see us getting better and better.

| deacon was impressive when he came on. very calm seemed to have time to spare when handling the ball. I think he will make a big impact to our team this season

He just takes so much pressure off sam and allows sam to play as a 6 instead of playing 1st receiver.

| Positives; Amos looked a new man, fitter Feka and Piggy, Pretty solid defence, some players will have to miss out because of the squad so competition should keep player on their toes.
Negatives; Karl Pryce again looked slow when Bridge got on the outside of him for try and he got injured again. Size of our pack and lack of a big mobile powerhouse Paletua Lauititti etc. I still dont think our pack scares anyone.

Yeah agreed. It was a shame really because it was a big chance for him tonight after a good showing at Wakefield. He ran his heart out as per usual but was dealt with very easily by the bigger Wire front rowers. I think every one of our front rowers made a handling error bar Coley but outside of errors our starting 4 has to be Coley, Fielden, Prescott and Feka.
O'Carroll will be an important squad player this year though and should allow us to rest people or cover injury.

| I thought our pack performed very well against a big powerful warrington pack. thought mossop was realy hard work. once prescott warmed up he was making good yards. fekka was a handful and was on the pitch for much longer than were used to. coley didnt seem to do much and i didnt notice fielden much in attack.

| We played really well in defence, but in attack... At times it didn't feel like we were getting anywhere or making many yards.
