I don't see how anyone can support that performance today, it was without doubt one of the worst performances from a Wigan team in a big match in a very long time.
Even last season you could see the effort and I would not have doubted the heart in the team but today I would.

| I will also add this, Williams is obviously a very fit player but, is he fit for purpose?
By that I mean as a halfback he is very broadly built and while that may be his natural build it looks as though his conditioning has exacerbated that build and that’s not going to help him.
He looks as though he needs a more tailored conditioning programme that perhaps strips some of his muscle mass in favour of a more lean physique.
Just a thought!
I also think Wigan need an out and out half at the side of Williams to help free him up to play his more natural running game.

| Two marquee players
Two players who consider themselves too good for superleague and are off to the NRL
One club legend
One World Cup winner
One dual code international
Six internationals
No points.
Utter shambles.

| Quote The Avenger="The Avenger"I feel a bit sorry for Williams, at his core he’s an ‘off the cuff’ style of player but that’s not what coaches are looking for in the modern game and it’s stifled Williams who needs to have less structure imposed upon him.'"
Got to agree.
Wane signs players so the team can play a ‘steam-pig’ game.
If Matin Offian was available today as he was all those years ago, Wane wouldn’t sign him. He prefers the Willie Isa type.
Williams is too bulked up which has slowed him down. If he was playing for Saints, he would be outstanding.

| It’s becoming evident that there are issues behind the scenes effecting the players. Is it any coincidence ST and SW announce their off and our performances take a nose dive?
The body language, the lethargicness, the sheer lack of attitude to win was astounding but what was more disconcerting was the soft defence attitude. That’s not a Wigan attitude we’ve seen since 2006 and it certainly is not a Shaun Wane team attitude.
I don’t want to make it sound like a crisis after two poor games; but I am starting to wonder whether Wane should leave early?

I counted four. Utterly shambolic performance, live on BBC as well.
We have been averaging five tries a match (and playing some good rugby), however we're currently on one try in 160 minutes. Are the wheels coming off? Have we been sussed? Can the players be ar$ed?
Most SL teams would have beaten us today.

| The sooner we get to the end of the Wane regime the better for me, Let’s get rid of some dead wood, get a coach in who can add finesse and finally get us away from having 13 props on the field

If the coach for 2019 has been identified and is available, then I think he will do just that. Our season could collapse pretty quickly if the last two weeks' performances are what is in store.

| Quote DannyT="DannyT"I think the Williams at 6 ‘experiment’ needs to end. He had a good three or four months there but that was a good while ago. Appalling to see him being one of the highest paid players in the game over here. Lenegan and Radlinksi owe the fans a lot of answers relating to our future direction and ambition.'"
Where else would you play him? Or just drop him?

It’ll depend heavily on the Wakefield away result on Thursday. I could foresee Winder taking over the reigns until the seasons end with a new coach inbound after.
Part of the issue for me as well is that we haven’t announced a new coach. I know these things can take time but IL needs to have one in place ASAP so players and potential new players know who they may be playing under come 2019.

Before today I thought dropping him was out of the question due to a lack of options in the squad. Don’t think think it would do us or him any harm now after that to see him on the sidelines. As for the future, he’s physically built like a solid 9 and is sadly for a ‘marquee 6’ playing like one. Isolate his skills at the minute and he’s basically playing like a 9 who jump out of dummy half, runs up his own backside and then puts a kick in. Sad thing is he’s doing it in open play and killing us.
