| There are St Helens fans laughing and smirking reading this thread right now. The meltdown on hjere is glorious.
2 win from top of the league. Lose a semi-final by 4 points to top of the table when we have half a team out injured and fans calling for our most successful coach in recent years head.
Jesus.

Get rid of Wane? Does anyone remember 2013? Hello....?
Calm down, wait until we win next week and then back up your opinions. The meltdowns on here are hilarious.'"
Then what happened in the 14, 15 grand finals, hull KR cup, games this year we've scrapped through Salford at home, Wakefield last minute winner and last week vs Saints ect. But at least his players show desire, which won't win anything am afraid

| Amazing how opposition fans seem angry at the fact im not angry at our coach.
Its almost as if they want us to sack him. I wonder why that is?

| I would keep Wane. 100%.
I agree the attack has been terrible but lets be honest, we still have a huge number of players out and the players we have back have had hardly any time to gel. Can anyone tell me how many games we have had first choice 1, 6, 7 and 9 on the pitch (replace 9 with 13 if you want to ignore MM)? Also Wane has acknowledged he needs fresh ideas, that will come in the shape of TL next season which will make a huge difference in that it will either make Smith buck his ideas of or replace him with a better player.
On the positives of this look at the age of the kids in that squad, Dom 22, Williams 21, Bateman 22, Oli 19, Sutton 20, Tierny 21, Bretherton (20 i think?)
The defensive display on show by these young lads has been nothing short of incredible, they grew up playing for Wane and i don't think anyone else could bring that out of them. Look at Leeds and Hudersfield and how they coped with injuries.
With all this in mind just think how many games we would win with no injuries and TL improving our attack. I still think we have a chance in the GF if we get some bodies back (be lucky currently) but I am damn excited to see what this young group of lads can do under Wane.

| Also think how much better this young squad will be with another year under their belts! If you did bring anyone else in you must give Wane credit for having so many young players with so much (relative to other teams youth) experience.

No we are not, most of us were saying it was a tough semi final game with the game in doubt up to the last minute. If Gelling, Farrell and McLlorum were playing you could have won that game.

| Wane has proven the same thing yet again, he can prepare us defensively, he can get us to give 100%, and tactically / offensively he genuinely doesn't have a clue how to fix what is clearly broken. Effort and defence don't win games, there's that small matter of scoring points.

I give wane credit for winning nothing for years, and letting any young player leave for big bucks then coming back crocked or a shadow of their former selves.
No one with a brain will pay top dollar to watch a Wigan youth team with second hand senior pro's backing them up.
The silent majority are speaking with their wallets, crowds dwindling, lack of interest.
Lenaghan needs to either sort it out or sell the club to someone who will.

| Just heard that Sargison's been cited for using his nose as a weapon against a players forearm.

| I'm sure Wane will say he's 'devastated' once again after another big game loss. Well i'm devastated that he's turned Wigan into the most boring, rigid, one dimensional team in SL. He and his 'yes men' assistant coaches have proved to be utterly clueless on attack. The empty seats at the SF in the Wigan end spoke volumes and I didn't want to see this team at Wembley. It was like watching the Brian Noble team.

Well Sam is not the attacking threat he was and I think you will agree that a lot of that could be attributed to his injury (maybe not all but most)
defensively he is playing as well as Hardaker did last season, to stop Ellis from that range... not many FB's could do that. Plus his efforts under the high bomb have been incredible, something he struggled with before he left.
Mossop is getting back to his old self after a poor start, again see injuries. With regards to second hand pros, Flower has been great, Lockers played well tonight, Crosby is coming on well, yes jury out on a few but you can't expect a team of world beaters especially considering the cap difference between Aus now.
You have a fair point with lack on interest but do you think if we had a fully fit squad we would be performing a lot better in attack?
Also what are your opinions on TL coming in to freshen up the attack?
