Burgess Gildart Gelling Manfredi
Williams Smith
Flower McM Crosby

Lockers
---------------------
Tomkins Clubb Sutton Powell
Tomkins' pace shouldn't yet be judged. Give him until after a preseason next year.
Tommy should only be cover for injuries. Be very gutted for Powell if Wigan see Tommy as back up for Micky after the season Powell has had.
Jury has to still be out for FPN. Not fit and carrying the same silly mentality which saw him shown the door at Raiders
Joel needs to watch his performances. Hopefully when fit we'll see a return to form. Isa will be wanting his spot with other lads coming through.
Hopefully Shorrocks can seek a loan move, I see big things ahead in his future.
Bye bye Hampshire. Never got the hype.

Hopefully, as I don't see anyone better to come in as a replacement. He's done a brilliant job under tough circumstances regardless of trophies.

Jog on Shaun, you'll be out the door at the end of the season.

A starting 13 without a goal kicker?
Can Williams kick?
I also think that Powell will keep a place in the 17

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

Tomkins, Williams and Leuluai have all had the odd go I think but it's obviously a concern. If Smith were an 80% + kicker we could potentially swerve the issues he clearly got but he isn't and the rest of his game is falling apart around his ears.
I hope Shorrocks is putting hours and hours in to his goalkicking because there is a place in the side for a good goalkicker.

I think he will if we win something. Don't think he'd retire after 3 trophyless seasons.

Did anybody else notice the kicks Shorrocks was putting up during the warm up ?
All different and almost uncatchable, and did anybody notice how many he put up during the game ?
I reckon it was zero, tragic waste !

Me and my old man said the same thing, under no pressure Tomkins struggled with one or two of them, in a game situation they would have been very hard to handle, spiralling and high as hell! Would love to have seen him send up a few bombs as the repeated bad grubber kicks nearly had me doing the Wigan Walk.

| I think it was actually Higginson who was putting the bombs up for Sam in the warm up - they were monsters!

16304_1526976105.jpg [size=100:2md8k3b3][b:2md8k3b3]'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Lockers to stint at hooker at some point to give McIlorum a rest. Whilst Powell has done a good job in McIlorum's absence I still don't see a future for him at Wigan. Smith dropped because he's steady at best in attack and poor in defence. Leaving out FPN and J.Tomkins as they aren't worth a spot as it stands but obviously form could change that. I know this leaves no kicker but I'm sure S.Tomkins or Williams can pick it up'"
Is this is a typo?

No, just an extra battering ram. If you look at our sides this season we have used Burke, Tautai, Sutton and Mossop at LF so I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say Crosby could slot in there. I went with him rather than Tautai because he's more mobile and should be able to manage one longer stint. It's becoming quite common for teams to play a 3rd prop at LF now.

I think looking at what we've done this year shouldn't be repeated kast year, replacing ball players with props should definitely not be something we look to unless we have no other option. Our play is bland enough without adding more impetuous to taking everything up the middle.
