The RFL do have an unofficial 'underdog' clause in their rule-book whereby if you're: (a) a small club, (b) from Yorkshire, (c) have pulled off a couple of surprising wins, and (d) haven't had your ground renovated since 1968 - then your players are entitled to say whatever they want to the referee and should expect every 50/50 call to go their way.

I think it's because over here it's 2016 and we have state of the art gymnasiums. We don't consider hurling, eating barley and throwing a cat over a fence as exercising like they do in neanderthal Yorkshire and we like to encourage people to join the revolution.
