| Quote: WARRIORCRAIG "Clubb and Mossop need to stay on the pitch longer. Patrick and Tautai are powderpuff in comparison. Both were good in defence today but they offer no go forward whatsoever and Patrick always seems to have a soft error in him. Looking forward to having Flower and Crosby back!'"
The reason Tony Clubb was so effective in the last 20 mins (as usual) is down to how fresh he is compared to the tiring opposition forwards. If he played more minutes he would be less effective. He's a big unit

| Was a good confidence builder that for the season going forwards. Can't say I am that disappointed with the result. It was a tough intense game of RL and we kept in the game and played with the same intensity up to the 78th minute, when Makinson had a brain fart and that was the game.
No quibbles here.

I agree. We are missing Taylor IMO.

Saints were making 50+ metres every set. We were making 30.

Except they weren't. Seriously, did you accidentally have the wrong channel on?

I hope this is some sort of sarcasm. If not, I suggest you watch another sport as you clearly know nothing about rugby.

| Wigan were dominant through the entire game physically, time and time again Wigan made 5+ meters at the end of every six, outside of any breaks.
Get Flower back and the half backs clicking and there's a very good side. As it stands, there's a team (just as depleted by injuries and bans as Saints, and with a disrupted half back pair) who can stand toe to toe with the top six. From a league point of view, this matters more than having everyone fit for that perfect team. When we hit the playoffs the squad depth matters but having the right players available at the end is critical.
Today, squad depth was shown with both teams missing players. I'm sure that there will be a few "but they are not first choice" comments, but who is?

| Tony Clubb was immense today and I thought he was MoM by some distance. That said, George Williams had his best game as a stand off and played very well. I now agree that he needs a decent run in that position. Hampshire showed why Wane sees him as a full back and he too needs a decent run in that position and notably, I thought Manfredi played in such a way I forgot Charnley wasn't playing!
Wigan have played awful rugby most of this season and are now 3rd in the league.
There'll come a day (soon I hope) when everything clicks and somebody will be in for a real hiding!
Great game of old fashioned RL today.

| Quote: sergeant pepper "That's true.
I'm happy we won. Credit to Wane for mixing it up. That's the kind of defence we need to see. We smashed them.
Faz, Clubb and Manfredi stood up.
BUT
1- Considering the team Saints had out and how the game went with injuries we should have been looking at a big win. 24months ago we'd have won by 30
2- We are missing Flower. When he comes back it will stop the drop in intensity when Chubb and Mossop go offff.
3- Still worried about our halves. Don't think they are good enough or creative enough to take us to the title.'"
I agree with all above except the 3rd point, we've got to stop knocking these guys IMO they gave 100%

Check the stats mate. Looked pretty even in the fowards to me. No way did saints boss the forwards and nether did Wigan.
Did you watch the game ?
(Won't let me put Link for stats for some reason)

The stats are about even but they don't tell you the full picture. The big difference between the two sets was Wigans physicality in defence. It was punishing and it had to be due to the size difference.

That's what I'm saying mate. I'm actully sticking up for Wigan here. I'm replying to a post suggesting our pack "bossed" the game.

Yeah I got that. I can't understand how anybody could think the Wigan forwards were dominated. We have some issues with our timing in attack and last play options but the forwards were superb.
It should be an entirely different game at LP with players from both sides back on board.
