At times this season some Wigan players have looked as if they where playing with the above mentioned affliction.

Plenty have played with pain killers in the past. I'm not a medic so can't answer your question.

| Member discount was supposed to end at 5pm today but it's been extend until 1pm tomorrow. Guessing that means the take-up has been pretty low. Probably going to be a sub 10k crowd which is shocking for what should be one of the biggest games of the season.

| 5000 sold at the start of the day, they are expecting 8k. This source was from the ticket office themselves.

| 8k would be beyond embarrassing, we should be ashamed if that's the case. We can muster over 20,000 for a meaningless game against Leeds, yet the one that matters and we struggle to get up to 10,000? Bizarre

| Truly bizarre - and where are all the people who have argued that the regular season is meaningless blah blah. And that the REAL season starts now blah blah.
And all the "I won't be renewing my season ticket - I'll just go to the playoffs" so-called fans?
Well done to the club for getting 20,000 in for the Leeds game. I really despair of Wigan fans and RL fans in general if they can't be bothered to get off their @rses to go to a few playoff games. I got my ticket with a £7 reduction for tonights game. I really don't think the club could do any more.
I reckon they'd have to give the tickets away - and even then some people would moan "well I still have to pay for me pie, and the car park is still too dear".
Mind you if we get to Old Trafford no doubt we will sell our allocation to the "best supporters in the game".

| Its always the same .
Cup or play-off's a lot of season ticket holders will not buy tickets over and above their season tickets unless its a final .
Just bought ours this morning , was not able to take two days off work . Just decided to drive up and down same day at the last minute . . Still the discounted price .
Regards , Ew

12150.jpg It's just WIGAN, nothing else. Get rid of that stupid nickname.:12150.jpg |

| What they need to do is include playoffs and CC in the season ticket...without putting the price up by too much.
People don't go to playoffs, because they are saving their money in case we get to the GF. And because the games are all on tv anyway.
Generally, the continuing emphasis on season tickets and match tickets puts people off. Some people would rather just turn up and pay, and then sit (or stand) where they want. But many clubs make it dearer if you don't buy a ticket in advance.

Aren't the playoffs an RFL event though and that's where the GF prize money comes from? The main problem with this format is too many extra games that don't count on a ST come too close together. If a team reaches the CCF, that's potentially 5 or 6 extra games in the space of a couple of months if their team then also reaches the GF. From my own personal POV it's a position I would like us to be in every season, but I can completely understand for families that something has to give and it isn't possible to attend all of them.
At least from next season, there will only be one non-ST game before the GF. The other problem is the current PO system is too long. I dread to think what the attendance will be next week if we lose tonight and need the 2nd chance game. IIRC we got about 6/7k in 2011 when we had a home 2nd chance game against Catalans. Fair enough it will more-than-likely be Wire or Leeds this time but we had a larger core support in 2011. We only got 8k against Leeds in 2012 when we were 80 minutes away from OT.
The most annoying thing is it has been blatantly obvious the fans haven't bought in to this PO format but it's been stuck with for 6 seasons now. Even if they thought they needed to keep it as a top 8 there were much better ways of doing it.

Agreed. It should be the highest attended game of Wigan's season, cheaper tickets than the regular season too.... 8k and we'll be a laughing stock of the league.
I just don't understand!

My nephew never comes to Thursday games for the same reason. It's a shocking night for the paying spectator but a great night for the TV fans sadly.
With my Wigan hat on its awful but when it's not us I think its great as Thursdays are pretty boring. Unfortunately the tv fans will always win.

Parent of the year award to you from teacher.
Went to my first game as a six year old and it was a night game too. Remember the teams and scores like it was yesterday. Took my lad when he was six. Didn't harm his education one bit. He graduated about five years ago with a first in maths
Methinks these excuses are a bit thin. Will the same kids be kept in at Halloween and bonny night?

Quite right too. My kids are 7 and 4. There is no chance I would take them to an evening game on a school night. They are both in bed by 7 and need their sleep. Unfortunately I don't have the choice and I can't even watch it on TV as I'm at work until 0030
