I think his replacement is already at the club. Rhodri Lloyd. He's been my player of the year for the U20's. At only 19 he should be ready for that big step up in a couple of years.
In his early years Lockers was a liability. I stick by this view. Way too many stupid penalties, no leadership and some "average" decisions in attack.
In retrospect, it's possible to explain some of this. His penalty count was probably the result of trying too hard for the team, he was made captain way too early in his career- hardly his fault, and more often than not he was played out of position- again not his fault.
However, there is no doubt that over the last few years he has improved considerably and matured into a very good number 13.
I have to say I will be delighted if he extends his contract with Wigan.
