Obviously a punishment should be involved, transfer embargo, fines, maybe even a point deduction to start the season. But kick them out of the league? No chance.

They have already been punished this season with a 6 points deduction and it has almost certainly cost them a playoff place.

So the cap has failed on several levels.... Failed to "help" club be run responsibly, and its certainly NO level playing field, as the Bulls had their playing field bought by the RFL to help bail them out...
So basically behave iresponsibly and stay in SL. How would you feel as a Wakey or Cas fan when your club has bumped along the bottom with poor finances and trying to stay within the rules and then see this...... Its a farce!!

Have a cap that fits! I can see the need for some sort of salary cap but the way it’s structured now it doesn’t work. Has it made a level playing field, no, has it stopped clubs from going bust, no. The same clubs are in the same places relative to where they were before the cap. Has it made SL more competitive with the big boys down under, no again because they can increase their cap so they pay their players better so we can no longer entice the top players over here, and I know some will say that helps our game by giving our own a better chance, but it’s a vicious circle because it has to be said top players put bums on seats hence more money and interest in SL here. IMO the salary cap needs a complete makeover, from senior, to youth and youth development.

| Quote pies-r-us="pies-r-us"I have given this a bit of thought and must say I DON’T KNOW. My heart says one thing, and my head says another. Justice and what’s good for the game, but is it? We all can push are chests out and say, “chuck them out, they deserve it” but do the fans? Is SL better off. It’s a big call, and a bit simplistic just to say “out”. What if it was us? No fat talk please. BE HONEST!'"
If the Scottish Premier League can do without Rangers, SL can manage without Bradford.
I don't think they have a huge away following so certainly clubs west of the pennines wouldn't see much difference in gates if they were replaced with Halifax for example.
I also think it is bad for the game if a club can go bust with huge debts, a new club be formed that looks exactly the same and everything carry on apparently as normal. Who will want to do business with a sport that lets it clubs walk away from huge debts with just a 6 point deduction as punishment?
If Wigan were in the same position I'd be gutted but I would not be in any position to blame the RFL for chucking us out of SL. The blame lies with whoever would have got the club into such a mess (which could of course include the RFL!).

| when do all the clubs in the RFL get back the money that the board has wasted on buying Oldslum and then renting it to Bankcrupt Bulls at the market rate......Which no doubt they played there for a season and didn't pay 1 penny. That in effect means the RFL have given them a handout over the last season of likely £50,000 which means they have had a playing rosta subsidised......Will the RFL give all other clubs the same handout so they are all treated equally.....
Hope the handouts the Bulls received this year are clawed back next year if the Bulls are somehow playing in SL by reducing their Sky Money. as it's a sure fact that any rent due to the RFL wont be paid as creditors are going to be shafted and get sod all.

can't remember other clubs or the RFL standing up to help us out when we were forced to sell central Park due to our mismanagement and mounting debts

You do realise that the SPL can't manage without Rangers, right? Either way Bradford can be done without, but I don't think it's fair. Wakey were never kicked out, and neither were Crusaders, they just died.

They decided they could and more to the point should manage without them so on a point of principle that is all that matters.

Fair to whom? Clubs who do the right thing but didn't get a franchise when Bradford did?

| I'd keep Bradford, they've made a real hash of things but it would be a shame to lose a side with a very marketable brand who would be in the top half of the table but for the points deduction and an average attendance of about 12K. Leave them in for now at least and see how things look when the licences next come up for review, it's not like we'll be missing out on much with Fev, Fax and Leigh. Longer term I think the league is too big, with the quality too diluted, I'd get rid of Salford (ground in the middle of nowhere, average attendance of 5K, 11th in the league, other SL clubs nearby) and I can't decide between London, Wakefield and Widnes for the other team to go
