There is no doubt, I've seen the proof of it happening. And even as a Saints fan I found it funny. I'd be surprised if anyone was genuinely bothered by it really.

Everytime a new ground is built you get these kinds of stories.

I'd be more intrigued were Langtree Park built on an old Indian burial ground.

It has been confirmed by a St Helens RLFC spokesman that the rumours are true and that two Wigan shirts have indeed been found hidden away in a 'dark and dusty area which is largely unused' within Langtree Park Stadium.

"We are looking to having the shirts removed from our trophy cabinet within the next few days", he added.

There is 100% two Wigan shirts buried underneath the St Helens pitch, numerous which have been plastered over in the main stand and a good few hidden in other area's around the stadium.

Whoever the main contractor was clearly didn't think about where the other contractors were being hired from - majority were from Wigan!
