How do you know it was that? They were spread out across three sections but looked like they could have filled two if sat together, which is why i'd guessed at around 2k - That seems alot less than it looked?
If 1300 is right from leeds that still puts us on a pretty worrying 14k home fans! Need to do a bit of work to get some more bums on seats for the next few games.

| I think the progress we've made with attendances over the last decade has been fantastic.
In 2003 we were getting crowds of 7k for a couple of Super League games. The fact people feel a little disappointed with a crowd of over 15k shows how far we've come.

Thats the north stand attendance figure. Gawd knows why people are saying its a poor crowd. Think some forget that 8,000 crowds used to be regular attendances at DW Stadium. We've added 5,645 to the average in the past 10 years - a fantastic achievement considering we moved to the DW in bitterness rather than wanting it.

| I still know of five fans who have never been to the DW/JJB since we moved. They also insist that they never will! I'm sure there's plenty more around. Silly really.
15370 is a decent crowd for a cold Saturday evening, round two fixture. When the weather warms up, the fare weather fans will turn up.

I just find that a staggering attitude. Life goes on. Yes, CP has many happy memories but it's time to let go and move on.

2010 - 17,883
2009 - 20,295
Compared to recent Leeds crowds at home during the regular season it was quite a poor crowd. Would have been much higher had we beaten Hudds.

That's not exactly a fair comparison though is it? The 2009 game was a) The Big One and b) played in mid July. Our first big home game of 2010 was vs Hull FC with a crowd of 15k (we didn't play Leeds for another 2 weeks afterwards. The 2011 game was also played in mid July.
If you look at the home games played at this point of the season, the figures are roughly as expected:
15 Feb 2008: vs Cas 16,667 (Home Opener)
20 Feb 2009: vs Cas 12,079 (Wakefield the previous week )
12 Feb 2010: vs HKR 12,429 (On Sky)
I don't think 15k is a bad crowd considering the weather, Lpool v Man U earlier in the day, on Sky and the Hudds performance.
I still think we'll get the highest average home attendance again.

| ...and of course the 'tics were playing just up the road at the Reebock at 3pm. There will have been a few who would have gone to the footy and then watched the rugby on sky rather than try and get back to the DW in time for kick-off.

| For the last two weeks, the South has been advertised as being sold out, when in fact both times it clearly wasn't. I was particularly irritated by that this week as I left it too late to get a ticket and could only watch on sky.
This made me wonder, are crowd attendances measured by the turnstiles or based on ticket sales?

Yeah fair point on the increase in crowds - was just pointing out that I would expect the averages may drop a little this year given we got a significantly lower crowd for our 3rd biggest game.
Where you manage to source a north stand attendance figure from anyway? Didnt think the club would release a breakdown? Would love to get the same figure for latics games if only to prove to their dilluded fans they average less than 12k home fans!

500 SS tickets have to be left empty as its unreserved - In addition, we can only sell for general sale approx 1k tickets as the rest are ST holders.
Given probably 40-50% are kids in that stand on the cheap ST, alot buy the ST but will miss more games than the average ST holder, - the average ST holder can only afford to miss one game otherwise buying a ST is a loss - For a junior as long as you get to 5+ matches you can miss the rest and still not lose money- Yet the club cant sell their tickets in case they turn up!
As a result there is rarely more than 4,500 in that stand even when it "sells out" - 500 free seats to account for the unreserved seating and around 400 -500 kids dont turn up. Therefore the stand can be sold out but only look 4/5ths full.
The junior ST is great IMO, but we should do something similar to the away junior ticket IMO and make them trade in, say the thursday before the game for a ticket if they are attending. This could even be done on the E=ticket site - That all juniors who are attending have to activate their card electronically at least 24 hours before the game- that way those spare tickets can be sold and the stand will look fuller

you do realise its unreserved so they have to leave seats empty? don't know the figure, but imagine it was fully sold out, and you're the last person into the south stand - how the f*ck would you find your seat?

Some figures I've seen shown an away average of 3200, meaning a home average of 14,400. Maximum capacity for the north stand for a Premiershop game is now below 4500 even with reseved seating.
As mentioned the south stand is unreserved for our games, with the under season 16 ticket holders that may not turn up it will leave the stand around a 4/5th's full at best so the club can put up sold out notices. In all sports the excitement generated buidling up the first big title or cup victory for a while is always the peak attendance wise, even winning year after year becomes the norm and almost unexciting.
