Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds
Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0[/color:1fnfdzuc]
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

| Anyone who currently has a knock or isn't 100% fit should be rested. Likewise any player who's feeling fatigued should also be rested. If Sam, Lockers or any player falls into one of those category's then they should be rested.
Other than that we should put out the strongest team possible. With the exception of maybe having someone such as King on the wing with Powell and Walker on the bench. Then when we build a good lead, we can take the likes of Sam and Lockers off and replace them with a youngster from the bench.
First and foremost we have to win. Beyond that it would be good to see a few youngsters get some game time.

Correct.
Liam Farrell looked really jaded today and probably had his poorest game for Wigan. Deacon was struggling near to the end of the game.
I hope Maguire gives all the players two or three days off and see how the knocks settle down.

Agreed, I would certainly rest a few and your team strikes that balance. Finch is a must to play, his timing is getting better but a game against "lesser" opposition should help that.
I would put Charnley in the centre though with Goulding on the wing.

If Joels fit i think he should play and continue at centre to keep up his progression there, alongside Charnley to try and build up there understanding of each others play. The early signs of them together look extremely positive.
I'm sure pretty much all Wigan fans would like to see a few youngsters given a go, afterall theres nothing we like more than one of our own showing what there capable of. The problem is you can go just a little to far and the game could be alot closer than we want/need or even worst case lose. The lads that have already been exposed to the odd game of SL and the ones who are out on DR should be able to slip in with alot more ease. Whilst we need to make sure we dont get overpowered in the pack.
I'd keep Lockers in as hes such a pivotal player for us especially if theres a few young lads in the team. He's had a few rests during games this year and to me hasnt shown any signs of fatigue.
I'd play Faz of the bench he looked jaded today as rogues has already alluded to but that was probably down to him playing the full 80 due to the Hoffs injury. Playing Ben Davies in the second row alongside Tuson will give us a little more size and hopefully with it more go forward to begin with.
Carmont to me looked tired so i'd give him a week off as we've got Marsh who has already shown he's more than capable.
Finally i'd have Coley on the bench, for a young lad like Crosby i'm sure it would feel good coming on at the same time as an old head like Coles and im sure hes looked upto much in the same way as Lockers. Both can spend a fair share of time on the bench once the result is certain.

| Play Joel in the centres. He needs as much game time there as he can to get used to the position.

What on earth makes you think Goulding would make a good fullback? He is rubbish under the high ball and couldnt create a bean in a heinz factory that lad! Only position he should be in if he is to make the final 17 is on the wing.

Why rest Pat and not Carmont?
With the loss of Gleeson Carmont is, quite simply, our star centre. Why risk him when we've got Marsh and Goulding who are both good enough for the team we are playing.
The same goes for Coley and Deacon. Why risk them when we have Crosby and Mellor?
Let's face it were gonna win this game by 30/40+ points. Lets use it as a rest period for those that need it.

Pats only weeks back from a major op, carmonts not. I'd play the rest of the players as I'd like minimal changes to keep momentum.

Bit risky having such a weak backline isn't it? Plus Carberry is definitely behind Tomkins in the pecking order, he doesn't direct the team and is very one dimensional. Logan might have a decent chance of making the side though.
It will be a full strength side minus those with knocks I imagine.

| I think it'll be a full side minus those with knocks as mentioned above, but I'd go:
FB 19 Roberts
RW 24 Marsh
RC 25 Charnley
LC 2 Goulding
LW 5 Richards
SO 30 Mellor
SH 17 Finch
P 14 Prescott
H 7 Leuluai
P 27 Davies
SR 22 Farrell
SR 23 Tuson
LF 13 O'Loughlin
S 15 Lima
S 29 Crosby
S 31 Logan
S 32 Hughes
Rest:
Sam - because he's in stunning form, and to give Roberts a chance to show his class against weak opp
Carmont - because he's old, and to give Marsh a spot, not that I see him making it unless he bulks up/starts passing
Deacon - because he's old and copped a knock yesterday, one of many he's had this season. Mellor deserves the debut he never got v Hudds too.
McIlorum - played 80 mins in quite a few games early in the season, don't want him burning out. Plus better to debut Logan now rather than late in the season when injuries force our hand.
Coley - because he's old and usually plays better after being dropped. Davies and Crosby both need to stake their claims too before Hock and O'Carroll return and they get forgotten about.
Hansen, Joel, Hoffman and Mossop - Carrying small knocks anyway. Gives Hughes his first taste of the action too, it'll probably be a while before he comes into the team properly though.
