completly agree, sam was superb tonight. anyone that questions his pedigree when he has consistently performed in two very different positions shows his class. who else could do what he has done and performed so well

I don't know... IMO he needs a bit more maturity to take him to that next level... IMO he is the best fullback and the most dangerous stand off in SL, but does that make him the best overall player I am not sure. I think he needs to develop his kicking game a bit more. Pat Richards?

Sam was decent last night, he could become the best I will see given 9 or 10 years without serious injury. However he was second best in cherry and white last night.........Arise Sir Stuart of Fielden!

I still think he's not the best person to be the last man in defence. Even playing at half-back he's shown that he will create plenty of tries and score them. I would rather see Phelps or Amos at full-back creating an extra acttacking threat with Sam in at half-back, and Lockers back to 13.

If Sam isn't MOS, it's an injustice.

One of his best games for us last night - much better than last week when, as others have said, he was too ball greedy - his step and dummy only works if it's used occasionally. He's such a danger he attracts defenders and that's when to release the ball.

Agree with Kat, still not sure about him at FB, he's getting smashed every 2 minutes and as good as he is there he's about 10 stone wet through and much bigger players can carry him over the line from close range. Perhaps Pat could defend at FB and slot into the wing in attack, and use Sam out wide in defence but slotting in as an extra man in attack, as a FB does.

He took a catch from the kick-off late in the first half and if you watch he keeps his hand stuck out, away from the ball - playing with a dislocated finger for about 15-20 minutes takes a special kind of daft lad.

We should thank the stars that he plays for us. If BN would have had his way, we'd have another aussie playing instead of Sam. The only other player that comes near him is Danny Maguire. If you look at Sean Edwards career, I think Sam is the better player. Can you imagine how he would have done in the Hanley era?
