| It is a brilliant way to decide champions, having to win 2 or 3 games in a row against top opposition after a tough league and cup campaign proves you are champions but I just think more should be done to reward the top placed team.
However, our minority sport needs as big and exciting play-off series as it can get.

| The play offs and the Grand Final have been a shot in the arm for rugby league. They must stay and the top eight format is fine, just needs tweaking so that its 1 v 8, 2 v 7 etc.
The weekly rounds are superb entertainment, but the excitement and intensity rise significantly in the play offs.
Also to compete with the Aussies we have to play at a higher intensity than we do in games against the likes of Wakefield & Quins, so the play offs are vital in that respect as well.
Conclusion - very good idea.

| I like the play-offs, but the current format is garbage.
The best one we had was the top 6:
Week 1:
3rd v 6th (3rd wins)
4th v 5th (4th wins)
Week 2:
1st v 2nd - Winner straight to GF
3rd v 4th (3rd wins)
Week 3:
2nd v 3rd - Winner to GF
That way, the top 2 have a DISTINCT advantage over the others.
This current system leaves EVERYONE with the chance of a single loss meaning no GF, plus it has too many teams.

| Being the most consistent team throughout a whole season is not given the credence it deserves and I am not saying that because we happen to have won it this year, the likes of Edward Hemmings virtually sneer at the achievement whilst banging on about the grand final and Old Trafford at every opportunity and the trophy seems to be universally known as the hubcap which is demeaning and not something that happens with either the challenge cup or the GF trophy. The play-off games are exciting and great to watch (especially if you are playing at Odsal and are 30 points to 6 down in the fifty oddth minute!) but like with the Challenge cup anything can happen in knock out football so personally think it is unfair but as long as the Aussies do it we will have to follow

| Top of the league should always be crowned champions. If you can finish above every other single team in the league than you are the best. Any team in the world can lose a one off game, so the GF doesn't show who necessarily the best team are.
You can be mediocre all season and then turn up and win the GF.

I would argue you can't?
You may be able to be Mediocre all season and then be exceptional in the Play offs, but not just in the GF?

Fair enough! Yeah i meant to can be mediocre all season then turn up and win the playoffs. You could win less than half your games and be champions. Yet a team may lose one game all season and not be. Anything can happen in cup games. Its a shocking way to decide champions when there is no need for it.

| Although highly unlikely, its possible for Crusaders to be crowned Champions having won 16 and lost 15 SL games.
How can that be right?

| Quote ROBINSON="ROBINSON"That's a good thing, though.
The less prestige that is attached to the League Leaders Shield, the more prestige remains attached with the Grand Final - and it's the Grand Final we all want to win, isn't it?
If coming top is seen as 'the' achievement, then the Grand Final will be no more prestigious than the old Premiership - a post-season afterthought.'"
Yes I agree. I wasn't expressing a view, for or against.
