Expect Sean Gleeson and Stuart Reardon to follow and even then it might not be the end of it.

Most of those players are coming to the ends of their careers and are past their best. Salford sign players like this, as they did with Talau, then wonder why they are injured all of the time

Whilst I understand what you're saying, for me these are precisely the type of players we need to sign.

This season we've suffered at times with a lack of experience, not to mention injuries which when you've got a squad of limited quality and numbers can cripple you.

I think for most of this season the team taking the field has had an average age of 24 and the average of the total squad is only 25. I think having Feka, Bailey, Nero, Anderson, Wild, Leo-Latu (and of course Patten) will give us a better strength in depth which is much needed and also, especially in Bailey and Anderson's case they'll surely help to bring on Adamson, Jewitt, Boyle, Neal, Sidlow etc.

However saying that the average age of the squad assembled for next year (so far) is just over 23!

Like my Salford comrade says, I'm not getting giddy yet, but it's just nice for us to be signing a better quality of player than we have done for many years.

Good luck to all who are leaving, really sorry to see Phil Bailey go - done some good stuff for us and always seemed in the right place to drop on the ball when needed, think he was the last man to pounce in the famous play off game at Odsal and like others will never forget that try in the corner against Leeds. Had hoped he might have stayed at the club in a different role and hope that might still be an option when he finally hangs up his boots

Good signings for Salford, I think they'll bring you further on next season. Also 2 great guys and clubmen, who'll be a great influence off the field to your young lads.

Though I think it is a case of offloading players we don't need, strengthening our squad and moving forward. They got us out of our bad times and I think you can only go so far with players that were used in a relegation battle.
